Can you see the lens-effect of the expanded air around the projectile? I think it is the expanded column of air due to the huge heat generated by the hypermach velocity of the projectile that creates a different refractive index - and the lens effect!
OK So what is a rail gun... HOw is it different from others... what are the advantages for the users...????

rail gun still far far away from actually use on combat ships, just like the laser airborane weapon
