Yep, it all depends on the negotiating skills of our politicians... They ought to bargain hard as if everything depended on it...

They ought to think of it as a "seat sharing discussion" between rivals and they'll get into the proper mood and spirit and should be able to maximise the returns for us... :2guns::2guns::2guns:
gr8 suggestion. ;)

One area they can bargain is the nuclear agreement allowing reprocessing to start.
yeah, that may be done. but can we negotiate anything in relation to 'sponsored terrorism'?

Easier than that at this stage would be a permanent seat... Lets get the Permanent Seat first... and, after a few years we can start tantrums about reprocessing...

Anyways, Obama is unlikely to yield on reprocessing so no use throwing tantrums now... for now, lets ask for that Permanent Seat and after we get it, we can move onto reprocessing...
IMO permanent seat is far more difficult than reprocessing. why would china give up its decisive adv over india, and why would US support us for UN perm seat? I can find any answer.

yes the more concessions the more cooperation that's all also having a permanent Indian military base in Afganistan and this is a must.

LF, they are not even helping us deport qasab's trainers, why will they concede to our other requests/demands? I think it is time india plays some HARD diplomacy.

India may have to contribute first to help the US in some way, before asking something in return. (Same in opposite order as well, that is ask something and promise something in return).

After all there no such thing as a free lunch.
