The problem with some of the Chinese is what it called "Han cultural Arrogance".
this must be your favorite phrase: "Han cultural arrogance".

"Han" is the largest ethnic group on the planet.

how terrible to know that we of the Han race have so much arrogance.

the forum administrator in the first post, said that chinese people have no morality, and that our entire culture is based on deception, among other things. that we are somehow different from all other human beings, that we have no conscience.
Relax, despite the 'tag'. I'm not an administrator and this not a view endorsed by the mods/admins, it's my personal opinion

hahaha. so when you say that chinese people have no concept of morality, and our entire culture is based on deception... those are not bad qualities?
Well then I should have worded it differently

1. The Chinese are realists, and materialists. They don't believe much in morality and spirituality (nothing wrong with that)

2. Judge China (the nation) by their actions and not their words (true for most countries though)

Ray Sir,
I dont want us to shy away from reality. Yet, we must differentiate between people and regime unless there is no difference between the two.
Anyway, I cheer your posts on this thread.
My advice to the chinese was that they could post their pov instead of whining.

Chinese of all ages, genders and classes are "very very" hardworking, very dedicated and have a very strong work ethic. They do not question orders given to them, and therefore make excellent followers.

Indian workers on an average are smarter but they like questioning orders, cutting corners and work half as hard.

Indian women are untapped resource; the Chinese women contribute more than men.

They, however, are not as entrepreneurial as Indian entrepreneurs, but what they lack in spirit they more than make up for it by govt nurturing.

It's really interesting to see that you guys put so many tags(of course, most of them are negative) on China and Chinese people.
I must say this is also happened in some Chinese BBS. Some people describe India like "smell like shit", "Dishonest" etc.
Everyone have his own mindset, It's difficult to change, and I think most of the people don't want to change it.

Yup the Chinese have always been materialists and that's good for we live in a materialistic world. While our spiritually obsessed ancestors were building Monastaries and Stupas the Chinese were building the Great Wall.

I dont understand why you are so keen to categorise people into 'friends' or 'enemies'. His posts on the topic are very informative, atleast I find them so. I havent read anything from chinese that have countered his points. As I said, most indians dont know about China. You give your pov and let others post their view on china.

People like to believe what they want to see and people are very like to hunt for novelty.

In Chinese BBS, of course the picture of the Ganges River filled with dead body and shit will take more people's attention than normal information about India. And people will remember the former picture longer, because it is shocked. I think the same also will happened in India BBS.

Great wall was very costly in terms of men and money. And ultimately, it failed to protect them from mangolian invasion.

I have read reports of India Times, for a while, I have noticed that most of the report about China is Negative.
Websites need to survive, it needs to feed people with the information peoples like to read. I think it is also reflect the peoples's mindset.

any evidence for this please?
Anecdotal, from managers who have worked in mncs in China and India, to Indians running manufacturing units in both China and India. I am comparing semi-skilled, skilled workers, not managers or unskilled labour.

Chinese are not very good managers, but they are improving. With the huge number of Chinese working in mnc's and getting foreign education, they will perhaps in a few generation become better managers.

Chinese are not very good salespeople either, it is quite off putting buying/negotiating with the Chinese. It is to do with both communism, and culture. Chinese don't demand services or special treatment and have very low expectations, whatever they get is considered a bonus.

Chinese, however, have an edge over Indians when it comes to business. Chinese think of win-win, they want everyone to profit from the deal, Indians always want to think win-lose.

Those BB Chinese are vely funny and are not at all representative of the Chinese

On an average Chinese are pretty friendly with laowi, esp with "Indus".

Chinese are generally ignorant about the world and particularly India. Nobody is aware of India its politics, culture, economy, military etc. I have a feeling they generally have a high opinion about India due to Buddhism etc.

When I told a Chinese that I'd like to avoid milk due to the melamine scare, she literally had our world turned upside down, she demanded how did I know about the milk-melamine scare ? I said it was all over the world news. Her mind was blown. Since they are ignorant about world events, she assumed the rest of the world is to. And, yes, their media is pretty much filtered and scrubbed.

PS: Middle Aged Hong Kong folks used to think every Indian is an epitome of honesty and loyalty because of the Sikhs employed there.

Chinese behaviour greatly varies.Mainland Chinese are different and Singaporeans,Taiwanese and Malaysian Chinese are different while the latter are a very confident ,happy bunch. The former exhibit all the classic traits of people ruled under a authoritarian commie regime.A mainlander's perception of life is highly different from from what say an Indian,American or other people from democratic societies. They don't deserve to be sterotyped like the pukes but lets get to understand them

**East-Asian societies tend to play theAlpha part serioulsy and highly heirarchial in the workplace.I have seen Japanesemaking deep throated moans

India BBS are much much smaller, and pretty much non-existent. We don't need BBS as Indians understand english and live in a democracy. So our concept of the internet and yours is pretty much different. You guys live in an alien part of the internet compared to the english speaking internet users.

However, you are absolutely right, negative images have a greater impact than positive ones.

I have read reports of India Times, for a while, I have noticed that most of the report about China is Negative.

You mean Times of India ? I don't think they need to print negative news about China to sell, they have pornography for that (inside joke).

However, most of the international news that ToI or other Indian newspapers publish is courtesy news agencies like Reuters etc

For Ming Dynasty, it is ManChu, people from my home town. LOL
And for Qing Dynasty, Mongolian is our best Great Wall, Ever.
China is much much more complex than you think. Han is also much more complex than you think.
I'm a Han (My race is Han on ID card). When I was a little boy, I have read the story about how the YueFei (Hero of Song Dynasty) fight with the Jin (Dynasty of ManChu), I asked my father, ManChu are so bad, why we not kill all of them. My father laughed:"You stupid boy, your mother is ManChu".
