    It works two ways, it also precludes Ukraine from rejoining CSTO as well.

    russian fleet at sevastopol to stay beyond 2017 if primary sources are to be believed thats a big +
    also no more gasless cold winters for them now
    hope georgia learns quick and get out of paper assurances

    Yakunovich won't be in office in 2017 so it is hard to say.

    They still have to pay for it, Gazprom doesnt just give gas away.

    At this point, Russia could just walk into Tblisi at will. They won't even have an air force.

    There isn't much need for China-Ukraine alliance with Russia on good terms. Only the 2017 lease option will determine Ukraine's fate.
