Muslims are facing the worst job discrimination of any minority group in Britain, according to new research which found that they had the lowest chance of being in work or in a managerial role.

Muslim men were up to 76 per cent less likely to have a job of any kind compared to white, male British Christians of the same age and with the same qualifications. And Muslim women were up to 65 per cent less likely to be employed than white Christian counterparts.

Muslims were the most disadvantaged in terms of employment prospects out of 14 ethno-religious groupings in the UK, researchers Dr Nabil Khattab and Professor Ron Johnston found using data from the Office for National Statistics' Labour Force Survey of more than half a million people. Skin colour made little difference to the figures.

Nabil Khattab, of Bristol University, said the situation was "likely to stem from placing Muslims collectively at the lowest stratum within the country's racial or ethno-cultural system due to growing Islamophobia and hostility against them.

"They are perceived as disloyal and as a threat rather than just as a disadvantaged minority," he added. "Within this climate, many employers will be discouraged from employing qualified Muslims, especially if there are others from their own groups or others from less threatening groups who can fill these jobs."

Khattab said the "penalties" for being Muslim got worse when applying for better-paid managerial or professional jobs.

For women, Muslim Pakistanis and a "Muslim other" group were 65 per cent less likely to have a job, with Muslim Indians 55 per cent, Muslim Bangladeshis 51 per cent and white Muslims 43 per cent less likely. For men, the "Muslim other" group was 76 per cent less likely to be in work, followed by Muslim Bangladeshis (66 per cent), white Muslims (64 per cent), Muslim Pakistanis (59 per cent) and Muslim Indians (37 per cent), the Social Science Journal study found.

White British men and women of no religion were, respectively, 20 and 25 per cent less likely to have a job than Christians. Black Christians with Caribbean origins were 54 per cent and 48 per cent less likely.

The only ethno-religious group with better work prospects than white British Christians were British Jews, with women and men 29 and 15 per cent more likely to be employed.

Of those in work, the researchers found only 23 per cent and 27 per cent of Muslim Bangladeshis and Muslim Pakistanis, respectively, had a salaried job. White British Jews had the highest rates, with 64 per cent in salaried jobs, followed by Hindu Indians and white Christian Irish on 53 and 51 per cent respectively. White British Christians, white British of no religion and black Christian Africans were all above 40 per cent.

Khattab added: "The main components of this discrimination are skin colour and culture or religion. But colour is dynamic, which means white colour can be valued in one case, but devalued when associated with Muslims. Equally, having a dark skin colour - Hindu Indians, for example - is not always associated with any significant penalty."

No one wants muslims around because they try to introduce their sharia and halal nonsense everywhere they go. No one is going to ban pork products from their lunchrooms or give someone a month off for ramadan.

One has to integrate with the local indigenous culture, if not a native of that culture, to be acceptable to the society.

if you want to impose your own culture in society (and that too in public place) that you go to and claim to be yours, then you are up for a high jump.

The Muslim doctor or engineer, for instance, wants to earn his daily bread, raise his family, etc. Just like a Hindu doctor or engineer. Only the fanatics try and impose their religion on others. Regular people, regardless of religion, don't. So it'd be unfair to assume that all Muslims try and impose their culture on other people. You're generalizing based upon what mullahs do, similar to how western stereotypes Hindus as fanatics based on what hindutva groups do.

Are you aware of how many educated have turned fundamentalists?

That apart, could you explain as to why there is no hassle of being citizens amongst the other minorities in the UK?

    Your slip is showing.

No, not all muslims but most of them. Especially the pakis. In case you didn't read the news of massive rape since years in a UK town, read it. This and countless other deeds of your people have made western countries to do this. If not the government, the private company owners know where lies their well being. They are doing a smart thing and they should.

My point is, there will always be some communities which are worse off than others - not every community is going to have the exact same murder rate, poverty rate, etc. That's logically and mathematically impossible.

These things vary from community to community. One community may have higher rate of crime than another community owing to any number of factors - social, economic, political, and so on. Those factors must be addressed and the problem corrected. That's the correct way of doing things, NOT discriminating against the community which has problems.

You treat a sick person. You heal a sick person. You don't condemn them.

How many people with cancer you saved with treatment?

If a community has a higher rate of crime, who is to eradicate the factors that cause it?

The Govt, yes, but what about the community themselves? They should wait and hang out in delusional hope?

For instance, in India, the Govt may go gung ho in its Swacch Bharat campaign, but if Indians still piss all over, even if there are public toilets constructed, should we blame the Govt?

What bunkum is being spewed that the social issues are to be addressed.

    Who is to address them?

If you want one's foolish cultural crap to be accepted on the native community that hosts you, then you are whistling for the favourable wind to blow.

In Rome, do as the Romans do is a very wise adage.

It is idiots who want Romans in Rome to do as Pakistanis do.

Imagine the Chinese demanding that the British should eat dogs since it is a delicacy back home and so the British should not miss out on that!

    Would you eat dog?

Be sick in your country of origin.

Do not bring your sickness to foreign shores.

Well, I honestly cannot give a better reply than @Ray sir. But I will add one thing.

How is it that your community treats a "sick" man. You don't treat him, you don't heal him. You issue fatwas against them. If that doesn't work, you throw a blasphemy charge against them. And if that doesn't work too, last and final option, blow them up !!

So, stop being a hypocrite. Charity begins at home. Start healing / treating your people at home and at your countries first. Make them liveable and lovable across the world and maybe then they will start accepting you in their societies.

    People are brainwashed from childhood

    1) to hate non muslims,

    2) To wage war against non muslims, either subjugate, convert or kill.

    3) Not to obey nationality but obey the political doctrine in the Holy book.

    4) To treat non muslims as second grade.

there is a constant struggle against non muslims !!

The community itself want to be separate and discriminate others.

I think you are smart enough to figure out where is the issue !!

I don't think my community - the Hindu community - has ever issued a fatwa against anybody. Stop spreading lies. Orgs like Ram Sena/Bajrang Dal are an aberration, they don't represent Hindus. They are the jihadi version of Hinduism. Don't be inspired by such people and spew venom.

Our hero is Gandhi. What would he do? Will he discriminate against random Muslims in Britain just because Islamic dictatorship oppresses minorities in Saudi? Where is the logic in that? You're punishing innocent folks in one country because people who share their identity misuse their power in a completely different country!

Do you even realize how shockingly absurd and bigoted that is? Of all people, Indians should know the pain of discrimination. Not long ago, the boards used to say 'Dogs and Indians not allowed.' Have we forgotten that already? Now we're okay with others getting discriminated against? Incredible.

    Alright, lets do this;

    1. If you were a Hindu, you would know that Ram Sena/Bajrang Dal are nowhere close to jihadi version of Hinduism. They do not brain wash Hindus. They do not train them in bomb making and beheading. They do not blow themselves up in religious places and public markets etc. etc.

You are nobody to tell me from whom I shall be inspired. If I want, I WILL take Bajrang Dal as an inspiration.

    2. Our hero is Gandhi. NOT completely correct. We have HEROES, not 1 single hero. I believe in Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar Azad, Veer Savarkar and so on. These people wouldn't discriminate with muslims in general but if they were present today and saw how radicalised muslims have become all across the world and that muslims are slaughtering muslims just because their way is different and how they all are keen on destroying their nation; Oh I swear to you, they would not only discriminate against you all but they would wage a war against your likes.

    3. Shockingly absurd and bigoted was the moment when a muslim man asked for water from a man living in a hut, drank the water and then shot him and his little son. Absurd is the moment when for no apparent reason, paki soldiers fire and kill Indian soldiers. Absurd is also the moment when they behead an Indian soldier without provocation. It is truly absurd how your elders and your so called religious teachings are supposed to teach you how to love people, but instead you preach a pure barbaric hatred towards all those who do not follow your way of religion.

Indians have suffered discrimination, yes. But not because of their deeds. It was pure racism from the british side. And you were an Indian too at that time. There is absolutely no comparison here between the discrimination then and the discrimination of muslims in UK.

The groups like Ram sena/ Bajrang dal represent Hindus, But if anyone goes against the law they will be arrested and put in Jail, Indian constitution works here, not religious texts.

Secondly no Hindu group advocate or teach discrimination. But they occasionally spew venom on Muslims because Muslims show intolerance and oppose/ridicule the native culture.

Muslims in India are better than muslims in most of the countries in this world.

You mean to say Islam is different in different countries so that the minorities treated in a muslim majority is different and so no comparison??

Islam is a single nation and a single political system more than it is a religion, condemn this line with reasoning if you think otherwise.

People are migrating from all over the world to fight with ISIS, what they have to do with Iraq and Iraqi citizens problems??

You know your kind are hypocrites and if they get a chance they will subjugate or kill the non muslims, but you are advocating to stop discrimination of muslims in a country like UK, nothing wrong in that but what about the intolerance problem with you guys??

Don't you think the world will treat you how you guys treat others when you are majority??

Or is it like what is mine is mine and what is yours is also mine kind of logic??

why you have to go that far to historical events when in middle east you can see people from sub continent are treated like dogs in present day??

Why are you not talking about this all these years??

why single out a specific country ??

I have nothing to do with UK or other countries, but the universal law of karma is that "when you do good you will receive good", "when you treat other in good way you will be treated in a good way".

Not long ago people used to hear words like "Londonistan", "Sharia for UK", Immigrant muslims clashes with the locals in UK and "no go areas near UK mosques".
