    Two Indians killed, one injured in Nigeria attack

    OHIA ABUJA: Two Indians were killed and another injured when suspected members of radical Islamic sect Boko Haram Islamic attacked a factory in Nigeria's troubled northern city of Maiduguri.

    "Suspected members of Boko Haram terrorists attacked a Gum Arabic Factory located at Bayan quarters, Maiduguri metropolis today at about 10:00 hrs during heavy rain," a spokesman of a military joint task force, Lt Col Sagir Musa said..

    "The incident led to the death of two Indians, one was wounded and is receiving treatment at the State Specialist Hospital," he said but couldn't give the name of the Indians.

    He said the suspects went away with an amount close to USD 450 from the premises where they carried out the attack.

    According to him, investigation is on to apprehend the suspects.

    Boko Haram has been waging a sustained war in Nigeria's northern cities with a stated aim of installing an Islamic emirate in the country.

    On January, militants of the sect attacked the city of Kano killing more than 180 persons, including Indian worker Kevalkumar Kalidas Rajput and his two Nepalese colleagues.

    In several of the sects' attacks, bombs, suicide bombers and drive by gun shots have been used to kill hundreds of people.

    The oil-rich African country has a population of 150 million equally divided among Christians and Muslims. The Muslim population dominates the north while Christians have a majority in the South.
