Two BSF jawans were injured tonight when their observation post came under fire from Pakistani side across the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor sector, after which the border guards retaliated using small arms.

The firing from Pakistani side at around 1845 hours was directed at the observation post along the fenced frontier at Nikkowal area of the sector, BSF sources said adding two jawans received bullet injuries.:((

The BSF hit back by firing from small arms.:2guns:

Pakistan had reportedly administered a similar offensive last week near the Wagah border. On September 11, Pakistani forces fired two rockets towards Indian territory which fell in agriculture fields in two adjacent villages, drawing retaliation from BSF using machine guns.

Evidence of firings, like fragments of bullet shells and craters formed due to rocket firings, were recovered by the BSF jawans the following morning.

India then lodged protests against the rocket attacks with Pakistan, which outrightly denied the reports on firings. (With PTI inputs)

3 months back we were discussing on shout box and nitpicking about few strategies ahead and responding to Mr. Musharraf boast about successful Kargil operation.
One of them was to plan offencive(low level) or may be to switch off ceasefire on IB with Pakistan to create pressure.
As i always said Pakistan has always thought ahead being a typical offensive/assertive and well aware of its weakness against Indian capabilities. Most of the time it is said that Pakistan has deter India since 1971 due to its strong army and nowadays nukes. Which is not so true, they are typical week opponent and after Indira Gandhi we had/have govt from both sides of politics either irrational(BJP) or strategic 'KUMBHKARAN'(CI).

To be on topic; the policies which India was to pursue with Pakistan is been followed by Pakistan against India.

The trend is set in pace from now, these ceasefire violations are going to be continue for sure. I would like to request MODS if they feel like; to make this topic as sticky.
Thanks
