I am sure that Princesses who were married off by the King for political considerations would not have been happy and in most cases would have been another addition to the harem.

This is nothing new. In India, the whole history is perverted and anything that goes against the official secularist version is suppressed. That's why almost all "historical" films and serials are boring toothless tripe. No Muslim ruler ever destroyed a Hindu temple and everyone sang and danced to Amar Akbar Anthony tune. All Hindu rulers were some sort of "nationalists" and fought for something called "India".

History is always a false flag, better to do our own research and get to conclusive evidence on who did what.

this serial is sh8tty and non sense.according to this serial akbar spent all his life in his harem.
why these mother effers are even allowed to make serials.
i mean there was a time my whole family waited to watch that serial tipu sultan and maharani lakshmi bai but now they add masala to even mahabharat and ramayan

Your source please.
read of too much history books and others so I am sorry can't claim the source as I forgot it.. read this several years ago but the part was that akhbar had jodha as first wife but it was completely against her will so she never accepted the marriage and was very cold to akhbar. they had a deal that after having a hair for empire akhbar will leave jodha alone to her life in haram and will not force her.. when they had saleem this relation came to an end in private life not in public.

few historians has claimed that one of the many reasons for saleem(jahangeer)lack of stability in character is due to this trouble marriage of his parents where he was always torn apart between them... jodha filling the stories of rajput valor and mughal treachery and akhbar not happy as son was not upto the mark.

didn't remember the source but this was jist of that..

even lakshmi bai and nana saheb were fighting to save their small kingdoms and pensions rather then for India... and this is the reason of our failure in 1857... but still these 2 are pained in high nationalist colors.

There is another school of thought to this story. Akbar demanded the daughter of Amber King as a condition and the King was against it but cud not defend himself against vastly superior monghul army. So he adopted a girl from one his daasi and married her off to Akbar as his daughter. His real daughter was married to a Rajput prince only.
