Top Chinese officers to train in India

Fri Dec 09 2011, New Delhi:

Taking defence ties between the nations up a notch, a go ahead has been given by the government for the inclusion of senior Chinese armed forces officers for training courses in India and the formal mechanism is expected to be finalised during defence talks that will take place in New Delhi on Friday.

While exchanges at lower levels have been taking place, it has been decided to invite senior officers of Colonel and above rank to attend the Higher Defence Orientation Course (HDOC) that is conducted by the Army War College in Mhow. The six-week course is conducted for foreign officers as well as senior officers of the Indian Army.

The two sides are expected to work out the dates for a joint army exercise to take forward bilateral ties that got stuck after a row over China's objection to a Lt Gen from Jammu and Kashmir heading an Indian Army delegation to Beijing. The next round of exercises will be carried out next year in China.

While two rounds of exercises have taken place, the process got stalled last year. The two sides are expected to discuss various issues, including schedule for defence exchanges and visits next year, during the fourth Annual Defence Dialogue on Friday.

The dialogue will be chaired by India's Defence Secretary Shashikant Sharma and the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Chinese PLA, Lt Gen Ma Xiaotian. The dialogue is taking place after a series of exchanges of military delegations on both sides in recent months.

Why the hell we should learn Kungfu from them when it was originated in India ?? :frusty:

Kalaripayattu is the oldest Indian martial art which is more than 2000 years, and that is he precursor to Kung Fu. Bodhidharma a Buddhist monk from India travelled to China in the 6th Century. He even visited the emperor, and he told everyone that their Buddhist observances were not so good. He went to the Shaolin (Young Forest) Chan Buddhist temple to teach there. Kung Fu and all ancient Yoga techniques were taught By an Indian Buddhist Monk called Bodhidharma to the chinese Monks who were very weak in that.
Chinese are known for Copy the original and later claim as their own invention !! :pound:

Tomorrow, You will say we should learn more about Buddhism from them as Buddhist population are more there compare to India ??

Peace initiatives between India and China must be welcome. Fighting and bickering will only weaken us. India is not USA, we cannot afford to waste billions on purchasing defense equipments to deter China. West is the only beneficiary of this Indo-China problem. There is no harm in healthy competition, but we must not go to the point of no return.

shaolin is just one school of chinese martial arts, and it is certainly not the first one. nor the most practical.

We have Kalaripayattu martial art which is more than 2,000 years old and started in South India.

Later, Bodhidharma who knew all these art went to China in 6th century to spread religious and traditional knowledge. There he found, All Chinese Kings didn't had any such knowledge. So, he taught various arts including Kalaripayattu. Obviously, There could be 100 different arts with different names but almost all have similarities and originated in India.

Hahahahah......

2500 years back, Nepal was part of India. He was only born in Nepal but all his education and enlightment started in India. Search Boddh Gaya to know more. Also, When he was in Today's Nepal, he was a Hindu. He become Buddhist in today India.

BTW, He didn't spread Buddhism in China, It was done by various kings and monks from Indian King Ashoka to Bodhidharma. 8)
