    1. South Korea: 120,750 (Not including North Korea)

    2. USA: 71,493 (Obama wants additional 100K students study in China in next decade)

    3. Japan: 66,159 (may grow fast if disaster continue)

    4. Burma: 39,776 (many of them might be "imported" wife)

    5. Vietnam: 36,205 (same as Burma)

    6. Canada: 19,990 (A majority of them might be Chinese-Canadian return back to country)

    7. France: 15,087 (Seems a lot fellow countrymen for Armand)

    8. India: 15,051 (Welcome, Indian friend. I saw a lot of you at eastern cities)

    9. Germany: 14,446 (what are they doing here?)

    10. Australia: 13,286 (Might be same situation like Canada)

    nimo dosent the presence of india in top 10 and and not pakistan send out a signal that person to person contact betweenn india and china is getting more and positive.

    i doubt pakistan will find a place because mostly their military brass visit the country rather than common man

    If Hong Kong was included in the 2010 census, you would see above figures become bigger for most of the countries mentioned above. There is quite a large community of Pakistanis in Hong Kong.

    There's quite a large number of Indians in Hong Kong too. And given that they're fairly strong in the business and professional community, I'd think that list wouldn't change.

    N. Koreans shall be the top without backing of official statistics. Crossing the border river they easily mingled with the Korean community in millions (an minority of China for over a hundred years)

    And Burmese /Vietnamese - many of them simply enter China with a "Border Area Resident Certificate" and are hardly distinguished. In the same way Chinese have access to Burma and Vietnam without passport/visa.

    Indian community in Hong Kong is said to be over 40K but many no longer are deemed "foreigners"
