Its reasonable to assume that under current circumstances, these young Tibetans are not going to see Tibet in their life time. China will never allow Dalai lama or these second generation tibetans back into Tibet for any reason whatsoever.. Their frustrations are understandable.. This make India's position dicey.

Actually it's a good time for these Tibetans to act. It will force India and the world at large to act and act in support of the Tibetans.

Nope.. China will take any such posturing as an existential threat.. Unless we are sure of a victory in case of a sino india war, order should be clamped down on such tibetans.

For the sake of Tibetans, I hope they don't do anything rash or stupid, If Tibetans to act violently, then it would give the Chinese a perfect excuse to respond in kind, not just against the Tibetans but also against India.

Insurgency by tibetans? We are giving China direct pretext to attack us.. Why should we do something like that, when we have nothing to gain and everything to lose..?

Although it is true that Dalai Lama's moderate approach has not helped the Tibetans in terms of political resolution of the problem, it has given the movement a legitimacy in the world. People all around the world (except for the Chinese of course) supports this movement simply because they see China as an aggressor & the Tibetans as victims. The Tibetans has done great so far by remaining peaceful. Any rash or violent act may result in the movement losing the legitimacy it has. China will be quick to term them as terrorists & declare itself as a victim of terrorism. It will make India's position a lot more trickier.

As far as China attacking India is concerned I could not care less. Let them attack if they dare.....

Interesting Uighur separatists first and now Tibetan radicals seems like there are many people who do not agree with the one China policy.

The tibetan movement has already gained legitimacy in international fora.. In such a situation if some radical tibetans resort to some kamikaze attacks on Chinese interest, the Tibetan cause will get internationalised. The pressure will on Chinese. The world nations will bear down on China to solve it peacefully... So Tibetans have nothing to lose.. As the article said after this Dalai lama, radicalisation is a foregone conclusion

China attacks without pretext... remember? China already does this with the Maoists, it is time for some reactive policy.

i think its an american diplomatic cable on wiki leaks. Not a newspaper article.
Based on US embassy officials visits, I have been in Dharmshala and lived, talk, eat with Tibetan some long time in Himachal pradesh, i know it environment, Few People over N.E may be political but majority of Tibetan youth is peaceful just busy in their regular life as we do..

If India does support an armed conflict with China then what can China do in responce?

It will arm Pakistan even more, not that they are already not doing that, they will support every anti-india movement inside India like the Maoists. That again is already there anyway. The worst problem would be an VERY LONG border getting highly volatile and we will lose peace in our northern border.
