Another crap media article.. Its was clearly stated in the military spokesman statement that the helicopter that crashed today was NEVER ASSIGNED TO THE PRESIDENT.
How can he claim that it was President's chopper

A military helicopter assigned to the presidency crashed in southern Ecuador, killing three people, President Rafael Correa has announced. The Indian-made Dhruv helicopter was on a flight between Guayaquil and Quito when it crashed in the region of Chimborazo, a military spokesman said. Correa disclosed the crash during an election rally in Quito, asking for a moment of silence for the victims. He emphasized that at no point was he supposed to be on the flight. "Let's hope this doesn't lead to speculation," he said. "It has to be investigated. I was not travelling on the helicopter, I didn't have the least plans to." Three crewmembers were killed, including a presidential pilot. The helicopter's pilot survived. The cause of the crash was under investigation.–AFP

As a result of the February 21,2014 crash, the Ecuadorian government suspended the use of the remaining Dhruvs.
It has been my experience, based upon protecting VIPs worldwide, that confidence in the safety and security of helicopters used for the transportation of heads of state and other senior VIPs is the most important evaluation factor.
Considering that two of seven Dhruvs have crashed, it seems appropriate considering that a presidential pilot died in thecrash, that HAL provide the EAF maximum support in assessing the quality control of theDhruv, considering that the helicopter is also used for transporting President Correa.
Although it is understood that the 2009crashinvolved pilot error, it seems appropriate that both HAL and an independent helicopter evaluator retained by the EAF conduct identicalcrashassessments to determine the actual cause of acrashthat killed three EAF personnel.
