If they are so, then all the good reasons to 'encourage' them to find a new homeland.

The GOI may have sympathy for illegal Bangladeshis, but having sympathy for Pakistanis is a bit too thick.
1. Complete Media Black-out.
2. Call Paramilitary (do not call Army, they aren't good at shooting unarmed people).

Congress always promoted illegal immigration from Bangladesh into Assam for the sake of petty vote bank. Assam has paid a huge price for this. India will also pay very heavy price.

If the illegal jihadi migrants take your land and lives, Bodos need to be same the way they were 25 years back. It's better to fight, kill or die rather become refugee in own country. Kokrajhar should not become next Kashmir. Violence is totally justified to protect oneself from RoP.

What I see is the ruling party doesn't have guts to deal with the situation, India still is economically far away from being a welfare state, we are still poor and third world country, if there is a constitutional provision which prevents us from kicking them out then it must be amended. Forget it until the Congress is in the centre , in fact Congressis would be happy to see these riots, more communal riots means more Muslim votes for them.

Actually, BODO's don't vote to Congress. They vote to Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF). Most of the MLA and even MP from bodoland Tribal Autonomous Districts (BTAD) are from BPF. Congress votebank is dependent on Muslims. That's why Congress sent two Muslim ministers Rockybul Hussain and Najrul Islam in Kokrajhar. (BTAD)

This is a taste of things to come. Pseudo secular people better start calling a spade a spade and recognise that the problem exists rather than living in denial. Ofcourse, if they were capable of the above one doesn't think the situation would have come to this.
Suppression of people's anger is happening at two levels, covertly and overtly.
Covertly: Pseudo secularism, muslim appeasement, rewarding the undeserving, making India a welfare state for Muslims. The biggest suppression is however being done by terming people as anti-Muslim and sampradayik(no, communal doesn't translate to this, look it up in the dictionary) whenever they are speaking out about genuine problems of votebank politics, their increasing population like anything, pushing of radical thoughts, love jihad etc.
Overtly: This is where the border between morality and immorality blurs for people who do not possess a clear concept of what is right and what is wrong and that applies to all of us. By sending in the army, the government is only patching up the tear. In due course of time, the tear will be visible again and these riots will start again. By suppressing people from venting their anger in the name of maintaining law and order, we are sowing seeds to a greater discontent. I agree there is no solution to this problem, we have to protect innocent people at all costs, but in the long run, such an effort(temporary quelling of anger) is counter-productive. It is far better to banish these illegal immigrants after the innocent among them are rescued.

Re: 6 killed in violence in Assam's Kokrajhar town; curfew clamped

Karthic,

We have discussed this earlier. See this post:

My question is, are we sure who the Bodos are fighting against?
I did not say they are Bengalis..They maybe rajakars, biharis, bangladeshi bengalis..everyone in the ring.

Motives --> Jihad against non-Muslims, especially the Indian government, in Assam.
What will Maino mohan singh do? Nothing. He has got no power to do anything. I do find it shocking that the Indian National Congress is so imbibed within the vote banks that they care of nothing else. they have for long tried to keep the people uneducated about the real motives, but with internet the ability to keep the nefarious designs unchecked has met with a match.

However the seculars on this forum will keep batting for the other side because they have an inherent sense of inferiority complex.

Congress has destroyed the character of Assam for petty vote bank politics. How can a political party can support foreigner just to win election? Such a shame. Worst kind of communal politics.

15 months back, Ultra-communal CM Tarun Gogoi barked "There are no Bangladeshis in Assam" -

No Bangladeshis in Assam: Gogoi

Then why Kokrajhar riots? These people are real traitors.

In 10 years time, when a Bangladesi will be CM of Assam, Then they will understand ?:tsk:

Sometimes forest fires are good for the forest.

I hope this turns out to be one such and the govt is forced to make remedial measures. Even then they want to maintain status quo - more power to the Bodos.

Hagrama Mohilary, the leader of the tribal council governing the region, warned that former separatist rebels had joined the violence to protect Bodo villages.
:thumb:

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised Gogoi for not stopping the rioting and Prime Minister Manomhan Singh called the chief minister asking him to do everything possible to stop the violence. The Hindu nationalist BJP has in the past been accused of fanning religious conflicts.

Violence has now spread to 11 districts, as reported in the paid media.

The current clash is also a result of mistrust, the seeds of which were sowed a few months ago. Much before the flare-up on Friday, one 'fake' NDFB militant was killed at Howraguri in Kokrajhar district on May 25, while he was extorting money from a Muslim. The slain militant was not only found to be fake, but he was a Muslim.

On June 30, a Muslim carpenter was killed in Sapkata in the district and all the people of the community took out a rally with the body of the deceased and blamed the dominant Bodo tribals for the crime. The killers were later found to be members of an adivasi militant outfit. On July 5, two more Muslims were killed at Antihara under Dotoma police station in the district and this time, too, the killers were not Bodos but from the Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO). However, the Muslims' backlash against the Bodos only gained momentum, which culminated in the killing of four Bodo youths last Friday. The next day, three more Bodos, all elderly persons, were killed.
It was in 1952 when the Bodos first clashed with Muslims. But then, the Bodos were only a part of a larger battle between the Hindus and Muslims when several Muslims wanted to join parts of Assam, mainly Goalpara district, with East Pakistan.
Muslim-Bodo mistrust exists for many decades - The Times of India
