The only way to safeguard from BrahMos missile is to run away - News - Society - Russian Radio

The main advantage of BrahMos is – it can go at a supersonic speed – very fast and enemies do not have any evasive system to defend against it. And if a missile is launched, the enemy has only one way to safeguard – that is to run away from his position. Unfortunately, the time available to run away from the ship or from the land target is not much, said BrahMos Aerospace president Sudhir Kumar Mishra in an interview with The Voice of Russia.

I will take that with a pinch of salt.
A more accurate statement would be "it's exceedingly difficult to get away from a lone brahmos missile and impossible to get away from a swarm of brahmos ".

Brahmos is fired and travels to the target like a ballistic missile .Brahmos has a speed of Mach 2.8 to 3. Let us assume it is Mach 3 which means 1225 km/h X 3 = 3675 km /h. So the distance of 300 km will be travelled by about five minutes. With the speed of modern anti A/C missiles or interceptors having more than Mach 3 speed it would be possible to intercept it. Interceptor such as Patriot theoretically will do it. It had a range of 70 km (43 mi), and a speed in excess of Mach 3.

That is why a supersonic missile more than Mach 7 is being developed in Brahmos category.

Brahmos Missile has high IR signature, This missile is vulnerable to heat seeking missiles.

This missile needs further improvement in maneuvers !!
