one more good thing about an SSGT is that the gas turbine would be able to recharge the batteries at a much a faster rate than diesels, this would in turn lead to lesser time spent on the surface and a lower possibility of getting detected.on the flipside this would also mean that it would be possible to have larger conventional submarines with larger capacity battery banks that could in turn be recharged by the gas turbine sooner.
