re: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan says Muslim Soldiers won KARGIL War

Chauhan sir, one can afford to be sarcastic on such issues that has potential to devide us..

I say I wish there was a chant of Allaha Ho Akbar on the part of Indian Muslim soldier on the Hills of Kargil along with " Raja Ram Chandra Ki jai"... or Jai Hanuman...

What a rape these politicians do of our polity that they would not spare their own mother who gave birth to them .. the mother land... they would like even that to be divided between Hindus and Muslims...

That is not fair at all..
I was not sarcastic mate, it is true that Jihadis cry "Alla hu akbar during attacks. I assumed Indian Army as a secular army, and I too am unable to find more Muslim soldiers in Indian Army who were on that hill, hence I commented so. I did not intend to offend any Indian Muslim soldier :)

Kalyan Singh had terrified him by taking care of muslim goons. If Amit Shah meant what he said, this man will get his "elaaz" properly.

True. Look at Syrian Civil War videos on youtube. FSA jehadis always shout Allahu Akbar during combat.

Actually there was chant of "allah uh akbar" from indian side when indian soldiers from jkli with gorkhas attacked pakis .Rahul kawar who had reported kargil war confirmed it on headlines today.

Plus " muslim "did lay their life but the matter of fact is soldier is a "patriot" which cannot be confined into narrow identity of "muslim or hindus" Which this fool tried to do.I wish he along with likes of praveen togadia should be exported to pakistan where they can spit as much venom they wish to shit.

Regarding muslims in kargil war

Thousands of Delhiites lined the streets of the capital to salute their brave hero, Captain Hanifuddin, who laid down his life fighting intruders in the Kargil region. When the body was brought to the Sajjadanashin Dargah in Nizamuddin, Hindus and Muslims stood side by side to pay their respects to the martyr. Since people had lined up on both sides of the road, it took almost an hour for the cortege to traverse the short distance between the Dargah and the cemetery. People seemed overwhelmed with the reported heroics of the soldier. "The country is blessed with such brave sons who sacrifice their lives like this," said a mourner. The captain from the Rajputana Rifles was buried with full army honours as befitting a war hero. Ghulam Mohammad, who dug the grave, said: "My family has been here for nearly four generations digging graves and serving people but an honour of this kind is seldom bestowed upon anybody." After the burial, many rushed to the grave, some offered prayers, others placed flowers, and some even collected freshly dug earth. (The Times of India, July 23, 1999)

L/Nk Ghose Mohd. Khan Veer Chakra (kargil war) His dead body has yet not been recovered till date

Capt Haneefuddin veer chakra(kargil war)

And now not kargil but story of two sodiers who laid their life

RIFLEMAN RAIECE AHMED GANIE, SHAURYA CHAKRA

Jammu and Kashmir has been in a deadlock of relations with the once united neighbors, India and Pakistan called India prior to 1947. There has been a load of bloodshed and loss of lakhs of innocent lives due to militancy in the Valley. Nevertheless, Jammu and Kashmir has given birth to many brave hearts who have kept the fervor of patriotism running high among the people of the Valley. These sons of the nation hailing from the Valley have exhibited acts of gallantry, surpassing all human limits of bravery and courage. Many acts go unnoticed and the heroes remain unsung. One of such brave sons of the Valley who has dedicated his life for the nation and continues to serve unconditionally is Rifleman Raiece Ahmed Ganie from Anantnag district. This living legend is a disciplined soldier who remains an exemplary illustration for the youth in the present times to motivate them for patriotism.

Rifleman Raiece Ahmed Ganie was born on 02 October 1983 at village Furrah, Mir Bazar, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. He had an inclination for Army since his childhood. He was inspired from the stories of soldiers of Indian Army who saved Kashmir from getting into aggressor's hands in his village by the village elders. His dream came true on 05 February 2001 when he joined the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and started his military training at the Regimental Centre and then posted to one of the units. He is married to Mrs Parveena Akhtar and is blessed with a son Mr Ruman Ibne Rayees.

Rifleman Raiece Ahmed Ganie was posted to a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion in December 2006. Upon posting to the RR Battalion, the dedicated and gallant soldier was posted the Ghatak Platoon at Pulwama. He displayed remarkable tactical acumen and resolute dedication in his approach to counter militancy in operations. He used to lead the team in the RR Battalion and was instrumental in collecting hard intelligence leading to a number of successful operations with minimum unavoidable or no collateral damage leading to neutralization of many foreign militants thus, contributing for peace in the valley. Being native to the Valley and having an added advantage of having knowledge of the terrain he used to volunteer for all operations by himself.

Finally, the day arrived when he got a chance to prove his bravery when on 13 February 2007 based on specific inputs from the intelligence agencies a cordon and search operation was launched at 1300 hours to neutralize militants in a village of Pulwama district. At 1815 h while de inducting, suspicious movement was noticed near village SIR. As usual Rifleman Raiece Ahmed Ganie was the leading scout due to his initiative led conscience. He challenged two individuals making hostile movements. Immediately the party came under heavy fire from the militants. Displaying high standards of military training imparted to him, battle craft, he took cover, retaliated and injured one militant. Intense firefight ensued for the next 15 minutes and he fired back valiantly undeterred providing cover for fire and movement of the team. Realizing grave danger to his colleagues, he braved to crawl through the adjoining Nala and positioned himself at the mouth of the Nala without detection. In a flash, displaying exceptional courage at his own peril, he charged and eliminated the injured foreign militant. This attracted the attention of the second militant taking cover near the adjoining boulder who in turn hurled grenades and fired at him. He repeatedly exposed himself to danger undeterred and against heavy odds. Without caring for the safety of his own life he charged at the second militant and killed him at point blank range for the sake of his team members and his dedication towards nation.

For displaying most conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage, saving lives of his colleagues in the highest tradition of Indian Army and eliminating two dreaded foreign militants Rifleman Raiece Ahmed Ganie was awarded with Shaurya Chakra on 15 August 2007.

This brave son of the Valley is a serving soldier and will remain to be the source of inspiration for the youth for many ages to come. His gallant act has inspired thousands of men from the Valley to join the Army and carry forward the culture of heroism which runs high in the veins of people of Jammu and Kashmir. His acts of valor are popular tales of bravery amongst the people of his village and bring laurels for the Valley. Undoubtedly, Rifleman Raiece Ahmed Ganie is a living legend and this Valley needs thousands of his like for a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.

BRAVEHEART OF JAK LI LATE L/NK GH MOHD KHAN, VrC

Late L/Nk Gh Mohd Khan, VrC was born in village Nambal, PO-Balhama, Teh -Sopore, Distt – Baramulla (J&K) on 01 Feb 1973 to Mr Sher Wali Khan. He completed his schooling till 9th standard at his native village.

As a student he was known to be sincere and hardworking. The seeds of patriotism were sowed in him way back in childhood. His ambition to serve the country and the love for olive green led him to be recruited in the Army. He joined the JAK LI Regiment on 25 Sep 1994 and after successful completion of basic military training, he was posted to 12th Bn of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry.

On 11 June 1999, Lance Naik Ghulam Mohammad Khan, VrC was tasked to neutralise one of the enemy positions at an altitude of approximately 17,400 feet, on point 5203 (OP VIJAY). He was Rocket Launcher Number One of 'A' Company. Lance Naik Khan had infiltrated with the column during the night after a treacherous climb lasting nine hours and occupied a position behind the enemy retaining complete surprise. The column was waiting to assault the enemy when, at 0430 hours, Lance Naik Khan spotted approximately 20 enemy soldiers advancing towards his team. Without wasting any time he warned his comrades and fired his Rocket Launcher, killing three enemy soldiers. While Lance Naik Khan was in the process of reloading the Rocket Launcher, the enemy swept the area with intense automatic fire killing several of his comrades. Undeterred, Lance Naik Khan continued to fire at the enemy till he also sustained multiple bullet injuries to which he succumbed later.

L/Nk Gh Mohd Khan was instrumental in beating back a well-planned counter attack at a crucial juncture in the battle. For displaying exceptional valour in the face of the enemy and for his unsurpassed dedication to duty despite his injures, Lance Naik Ghulam Mohammad Khan was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra.

He is survived by wife Mst Zarina Akhter and two daughters.

to each and every brave heart irrespective of cast ,creed and religon or nationality who laid their life in the supreme service of the nation.

For mr Azam khan

Re: Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan says Muslim Soldiers won KARGIL W

I did not want to comment on all of this but A Chauhan is right. " Allahu Akbar" was certainly being shouted but by soldiers who were attacking us not by defenders. Many of defenders might have chanted Har Har Mahadeva. Battle between Pakistan and India is not a secular battle but one between an Islamic nation and other between a nation which is confused and disowns its own Hindu heritage though it is that heritage which makes it a nation.
@Pratap... I am sure you do not have any Army background or you would have never written such a crap. Soldiers in the Indian Army fight basically keeping in ethos of their "Regiment" their "Izzat - o Iqbal", their "pride" and with a sense of patriotism coupled with examplary individual and collective sense of bravery. No Regiment of Indian Army so far has a war cry of "Har Har Mahadev" (which it could be - no harm in that). Indian soldiers do not fight a religious war. Pakistanies do because of their teaching, their background and their motivation being centred around religion. They do Chant of war cry like " Ya Ali", "Allah Ho Aqbar" .... but they used to do that even while attacking Muslim rulers in the past. You mean to say when Mogul Army attacked Muslim Nawabs they would change their war cry.... The three Muslim states in Daccan constantly attacking each other used to shout "Har Har Mahadeva" ?? Ha Ha Ha ..

War cry gives last minute motivation to an individual rather than propagate a religion... It does not call for surrender to a religion.

Indian Army's war cry are according to their regiments which may vary from " Badri Vishal Lal Ki Jai " to " Badlu Ram Ka Ration Khayega" to "Tagada Raho" to Chhatrapati Shivaji Ki Jai"..... " Jat Balwan Jai Hanuman" to motivate them during war.... yes " Raja Ram Chandra Ki Jai".. and " Jai Bhadrakaali" are also there... according to the region the troops would hail from. There is " Veera Madrassi, Adi Kollu, Adi Kollu (Brave Madrassi, Hit and Kill, ... " types of war cries .... also..

It would be worthwhile for you to do a research on the Mottos and War Cry of Indian Army Regiments.... and how secular or motivating these are...

Battles between India and Pakistan are not religious wars, you fool, but between one Army which has a religious fervour but still professional (Pakistani Army) and on the other side a thoroughly professional Army (Indian Army).

In fact battles in Indian subcontinent fought by Indian rulers have not been fought as religious wars, though the invading Armies had Jihadist fervour. But invading Armies largely consisted of local soldiers and even Rajputs who were not Muslims. Name any ruler in India who game a call to religion to fight Muslim invaders . Had that been so the story would have been different.

What do you think of the battles between Pakistani Army and between Mukti Bahini in the past and battles between TTP terrorist and Pakistani Army both sides out-shouting Allah Ho Aqbar more than the other. Ah. for you all those are religious wars. What about the battles that have occurred and shall occur between Afghan Army and Pakistan Army ?.

When it comes to Indian Army, please spear them from your kind of Communal ideas..... Indian Army soldiers are more religious than you but without wearing a tag to that effect.

Spare this thread from your trash and infused controversies.

15 yrs after Kargil War, Drass is a tourist town, with money, new houses, jobs

Mushkoh first shot to fame during the India-Pakistan Kargil War as an inhospitable battlefield. Fifteen years later, the valley, with the Tiger Hills in the backdrop, is a popular tourist spot. A war brings miseries, but in Drass, it has brought affluence too. It has changed the town that had been the epicentre of the armed hostilities between the two neighbours, from its architecture to its lifestyle. Spread on both sides of the crucial Srinagar-Leh highway, it is at many places completely exposed to the Pakistani positions. A rusted white signboard still greets visitors to "the second coldest place in the world"—as Drass was known until 1999. But few other signs remain of that town. Abdul Rahim admits the war brought "money, large amounts of money". "Before 1999, we led a hard life. It was a struggle to arrange two meals," he says. The first jobs that came were in the Army, with villagers employed as porters or their horses rented for ferrying men and machines to the outposts of Tololing and Tiger Hills. An urban legend in these parts, laughs a local, G N Zia, is that people were earning so much renting out horses "that a villager fed a Rs 1,000 note to his horse". Having learnt its lessons, the Army fortified Drass with security installations and modern equipment after the hostilities ceased, as well as extended its Operation Sadbhavna meant to win over people, to the region. "It was on a massive scale and lots of jobs were provided to youths," says Zia. "The Army's developmental projects changed the face of this town."
