Almost two months have passed since the first reports that Hindu militants, suspected in Ajmer Dargah blast, were also linked to Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad. The Central Bureau of Investigation has picked up a right-wing activist Devender Gupta and others in this connection.

Now the bureau has moved a special CBI court in Hyderabad for a transit warrant to bring the suspects to Hyderabad for interrogation.

Hyderabad has viewed these reports with mixed feelings of relief, anger and dismay because till now the local Muslims bore the brunt as the police and the investigating agencies have always suspected the roles of Muslim organisations or youth in the blasts.

Member of the Lok Sabha from Hyderabad and president of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Asaduddin Owaisi told Mohammed Siddique in Hyderabad that at least now the investigative agencies should realise that a new front of terrorism has been opened with in the country by Hindu extremists.

What is your reaction to the reports that CBI has picked up some Hindu extremists in connection with the Mecca Masjid blast?
More than three years have passed since the incident and CBI has taken such a long time to reach the real culprits. I can't understand this delay, when there were clear leads indicating the involvement of Hindu terrorist organisations behind the blast.

From the day one, we have been saying that police and other investigating agencies should probe this incident with an open mind and not look at it only from the Muslim angle. But unfortunately within ten minutes of the incident a television channel started saying it was done by HuJI, another said it was the handiwork of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, another said it was Inter Services Intelligence and fourth said that a boy called Bilal was responsible. Now we know that it was neither any Bilal nor any cross border terrorist organisation but the Abhinav Bharat which has done it.

    Why you think so?
There are so many similarities between Ajmer and Mecca Masjid blasts. Both bombs were wrapped in Telugu newspapers. For both the blasts, SIM cards were purchased from Jharkhand in the same fake name. They (CBI) should have followed all these leads.

The most important thing is that a mix of TNT and RDX was used in both the blasts and forensic experts say only the army people can prepare such a thing. In the Malegaon case, Lieutenant Colonel Srikant Purohit was arrested but you shut your eyes from him. You shut your eyes because you don't want to admit that a Hindu organisation could be involved in such activities.

Both the government and the media treat them as holy cows and they think only Muslims can do such things. I appeal to the government to open their eyes at least now. They should realise that a new front of terrorism has opened in this country. There is an urgent need for a thorough probe into the activities of these Hindu organisations.

An activist was caught in connection with the Ajmer Dargah blast. Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have become the headquarters of the Abhinav Bharat. As long as intelligence agencies and the National Investigating Agency don't keep an eye on them and expose them, such incidents will continue in the country.

Muslims have been blamed for many incidents in the past?
How long will this continue? How long will they keep blaming Muslims? When the CBI director said that there was a link between Ajmer and Hyderabad blasts, they should have arrested the suspects long ago. I and many other members of Parliament have written to the government. It is not first incident. There have been a series of incidents involving Hindu terrorists. Abhinav Bharat exploded the first pipe bomb in Latur in 2001 and the second explosion took place in Aurangabad.

In 2004 during Ramadan, mosques were attacked in Jalna and Parbhani. In 2006, there was a blast in a Bajrang Dal office. In 2008 in Kanpur so much explosives were recovered from a Bajrang Dal office that the local superintendent of police said that it could have devastated half of Kanpur city.

In Maharashtra, theatres were attacked with bombs. The agencies should open their eyes. We don't want any trouble in this country because it is not good for the people be it Hindu or Muslims. We think that a terrorist itself is a new religion and Hindus and Muslims will have to unitedly fight against it.

Why you think it has taken such a long time to resolve the Mecca Masjid case?

I will still not say that it has been resolved. That will happen only when the CBI arrests the suspects and bring them to Hyderabad. If you look at all the blast cases during the last three years almost all of them have been solved and culprits have been arrested and sent to jail. After the failure of the Hyderabad police, the case was given to CBI but it also could not make any headway.

Apart from the Mecca Masjid blast, Muslims in Hyderabad have been victimised at two other levels. One, the police opened fire on people outside the mosque after the blasts and secondly more than 100 youth were picked up and tortured and framed in false cases. The Justice Bhaskar Rao commission was constituted to probe the police firing but till date it has not given any report. The commission should submit its report and say who was guilty.

/\/\/\ It is the minority vote bank which decides which party will be in power. As about Hindu terrorism goes, if this is at all true, then groups like AB should be nipped in the bud. But, yes, the need of the hour is neutralizing terror from across the border, which is the biggest threat to our country, and sadly is Islamic terror.

This is good work. For so long has the whole country looked to the Muslim community for acts of terrorism that many acts by other communities go unnoticed. Equality before the law is paramount, whatever community the criminal hails from.

The rise of Hindu radicals in form of this organized group is because of incompetency of Govt against terrorist attacks, Further the Indian laws against terrorists is not very effective ( Looking at the situation of the country ), Politics in India so dirty that most of the people cant define who is good and who is bad!

So some Hindus are committing acts of terrorism because of "incompetency of Govt against terrorist attacks" (?).

Counter-argument using same logic, Muslims are committing acts of terrorism because of "incompetency of Govt against anti-Muslim riots and attacks" and by this same logic we should expect the Christians to commit acts of "terrorism" because of what happened to them in Anti-Christian riots and the Sikhs to continue terrorism because they haven't got justice for the 1984 riots. Insert other communities who have been victims of injustices.

Doesn't this become a positive feedback loop ?

Hindu terrorists, Muslim terrorists, Sikh terrorists, Atheist terrorists, Christian terrorists are all the same way; no one is holier than thou.

PS: Indian laws are rather draconian.

Good one. And it is true to a high degree what you said about Hindu terrorism. When innocent people are killed and the GoI does not take any action, certain section of people would take laws into their own hands. But this in no way justifies killing our own citizens.

If there are Hindu terrorists, then it would be better if they could infiltrate POK and kill all those terrorists and destroy those 42 terrorist camps.

Though there is no broad consensus on terminology but you are pushing the boundaries; AFAIK none of the MPs are terrorists ie they have not committed an act of "terror", though they have been accused of inciting violence. And Sajjan Kumar is not a lawmaker iirc.

For eg. in Kashmir its called an Insurgency and not Islamic terrorism; in Malegaon it was a Hindu/Saffron terror outfit that committed a terrorist act; in Punjab there was an insurgency waged by Sikh separatists and militants.

Saffron terror and Islamic terror are both ongoing events and as such the Govt will not be forthcoming with information. GoI doesn't explicitly jump on terms but the media sure jumps the gun.

The Hindu terrorists are not killing Islamic terrorists but are killing innocent Indian civilians often of a particular community to terrorize them, and at the same time also feeding Islamic terrorism. Such acts also polarize communities.

They are not vigilantes meting out justice !!! Vigilantism in some cases can still be condoned but terrorism NEVER.

    @Singh
I want to say very clearly that for a long time we Indians are fighting them and its a fact a long war most likely make our enemy stronger, they get used to our tactics and the adapt to it accordingly, well at parliament and other public site like DFI, public trajectory rapidly Change from supportive to negative to downright hostile, people just get sick and tired and they just wanna be told it over.

Despite the facts our Intel remarkably increase efforts in operational intensity, But times of failure occur which our people ( INDIANS ) paid with their blood, What we here dealing is potentially GLOBAL rise of RADICAL ISLAM which require constant fire in order to suppress, And You see because our enemy has realized that they will be fighting with us in future, NOW if you lived like it past and you behave like its the past then its for even god cant make u see the future, these people live among us eat with us, in situation like this your enemy is like your friend and your friend look like an enemy, What i need you to fully understand that THIS PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO NEGOTIATE not at all, They want the universal rule of ISLAM and all other un-Islamic element wiped out from the face of the earth and they want every infidel to converted one of them, Now what is changed that our unsophisticated enemy is got know about the unsophisticated truth that we INDIANS are an easy target, Our world we know is lot simpler and when they put to the end!! You might think that u might take our hand off for just one minute and our world Change completely..................

Who decides what Islam is like? 99% peace loving muslims or the 1% extremists?
It all comes back to the same old topic of generalizing all terror in one particular direction.

All those who think muslims are out to convert everyone else to muslims are also mistaken. Even if we see in the indian context, we don't hear of any forced conversion or conversions by bait or anything.

Even most terror organizations don't have conversion as their agenda.
Hezbollah is anti israeli, ditto with hamas. The erstwhile indigenous Kashmiri separatists terrorists didn't have conversion agenda. Yes but the pakistan backed organizations have an agenda that keeps changing to keep the terror tap on. So they have an agenda of islamizing the sub continent.
The necessity of the past which involved conversion in arab land is a thing of the past. It also involved politics. You don't see maulvis going door to door asking people to convert and kill those who don't.

I as a muslim is least bothered to convert anyone else. I follow what I have to by praying Namaz 5 times and then go about my business and that is the case with the majority of muslims too. But everyone is too busy following only the 1% who have their own vested agenda.

Any person who willfully sets out to harm a civilian is a terrorist. It doesn't matter what justifications one can give for his acts. Its important that govt punishes these guys in the most stringent method. At the same time as far as threat perceptions are concerned, these guys are no where near as big as threat as cross border groups or even local groups like IM. So we shouldn't equate the two groups of terrorist, while there intention may be the same, there capabilities are vastly different.

    1. Whom are we fighting ? You have not explicitly defined this.
    2. By we Indians you mean whom exactly ? Majority of Indians are losing to poverty and diarrhoea btw.
    3. How can an enemy which seeks to make itself an enemy of so many hope to get stronger ?

    1. What is the trend of terrorist incidents? They are going down y-o-y iirc
    2. Is this Radical Islam endemic to India or is being exported to India ? Homegrown Indian movements are rather weak unless they are being assisted by foreigners and as such have no real support base.
    3. How can these Radicals realistically hope to defeat a billion strong nation? Isn’t it absurd
    4. How does using force to defeat an ideology work ? Is it not better to remove the conditions which force this ideology to flourish or to use an antithetical ideology to fight it with?
    5. How is Radical Islam a greater danger to us than starvation deaths and lack of toilets?
    6. Why are we rightly offended by an incident like 26/11 yet are oblivious to deaths of thousands of Indian children at the hands of diarrhoea ? With all due respect more Indians will die of malnourishment, starvation, diarrhoea in 2010 than will ever die because of this “Radical Islam”.

Sorry but I don’t buy this whole conspiracy theory. No disrespect but you just sounded like someone on a Pak TV show. The fact of the matter is that the fear of Radical Islam is highly overplayed atleast in an Indian context.

Using an example of 26/11 if the goal of Radical muslims was to kill as many people as possible than why not murder 2 people a day to kill more people over a 10 year period than to commit 1 act of spectacular terrorism in a decade which kills 2000?

If the goal of the Radical Islam is to convert all to its way of thinking than why kill or show their religion in a wrong light? Anecdotally most humans are not attracted to violent cults. So what are these Radical Islamists ? they are just a bunch of attention seeking losers.
There are however, extremist characters who want to carry out wanton acts of spectacular violence in a complete random manner which is meant to offend shock terrorize us. 2 airplanes crashing into a skyscraper in a metropolis is infinitely more shocking and spectacular than 1,000,000 children dying of excessive shitting in a year spread over 600,000 villages in a 3mn sq km country.

Why does terrorism offend us? Because we are a nation of a billion, with one of the world’s largest economies and military and we can’t do a shyt about an idiot organization which just randomly decides to attack a hotel in which we are enjoying a nice quiet dinner. These incidents are beyond our control, they are so random and they make us feel impotent. Unfortunately they are a part of the landscape and the only way we can defeat terrorism is by not giving it importance or any attention.

PS: Why Muslims are not to be blamed read Yusuf’s post, he explains what every Indian middle class wishes for. As for the poor, they are more interested in survival.
PS: Don’t use excessive formatting it makes it hard to read

Singhi ji i want tell only one thing that according to them(radical Muslims) their version of islam is true version so i does not matters to them whether u see/conclude their acts/ or ur interpretations of their acts in name of religion in wrong way.

their goal is to bring whole world under one flag (which ofcourse not possible under present scene)so their revised goal is to bring all land which where previously ruled by islamic/muslim rulers. so it runs from present day turkey to Indonesia/Malaysia (of course this includes Israel also )

and for this it requires land to be capture/conquer. people leaving their should be converted to their eay of islam and if this require to terrirose peopls so be.

And about Hindu terrorist it goes same just replace Muslims by Hindu.they want sadhu to head india ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.

Most muslims are peace loving, but the radicals who follow Islam are in much higher numbers than any other religion on the planet. And education is not the only drawback that pushes people from Islamic religion to radicalism as shown by Faisal Shahzad, Osama bin Laden, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, Mohamed Atta, Imam Samudra, Kafeel Ahmed and a ton others who become radicals no matter how educated, sophisticated they get in life.

Generalization of terror? Are you trying to say that terrorists are in equal proportion from all walks of life and from every religion?

Conversion in India is still going on through other means, albeit not forced. Hindu girls are taken for a ride, converted to get married, and then left alone. These marriages are termed 'Jihad Marriages'. How low can a human stoop?

Terror organizations don't have conversion as an agenda, their agenda is to terrorize non-islamic people.

One thing to note is that, some of the terrorist organizations of the NE comprises of Hindus, like DHD, DHD(J), ULFA. But the thread is not discussing this, it talks about Hindu terrorism which has started to target innocent Muslims in Mosques and the likes, and also the failure of the GoI to curb persecution of Muslims and bring to justice members of Abhinav Bharat and other Hindu terrorist groups if there are any.

By persecution of Muslims, I mean whenever there is a terrorist attack, all fingers point towards either Pakistan backed terrorist organizations or Indian terrorist groups like IM, SIMI. This is not hard to understand, as for an example - when we have a robbery, police first round up and start interrogating history sheeters. This is natural, because Pakistan has misused Islam and it is for all of us to see. The whole world knows, how Pakistan has become a failed country with terrorism as it's top notch service to the world. This mentality of GoI and we people should change, because as Yusuf said majority of Muslims are peace lovers in India. There should be strong accountability that when people are picked up for interrogation after a terrorist attack, the Police do their job and not frame people of a certain community unjustly.

As for groups like AB, the more quickly GoI acts, the better. We do not want Hindu terrorism to be a major headache at a later part of this century, do we? There should also be informers infiltrating groups like RSS, Shiv Sena and the likes, and if members of that are found involving in anti state activities, they should be thrown into jails indefinitely.

'A majority of the police force is biased'

The police investigations into the Ajmer and Mecca Masjid blast cases have floundered. The investigation went in one direction blaming the Harkat-ul-Jihadi for two years and now it is going in another direction where the Abhinav Bharat and the Sanathan Sanstha are being blamed. Several persons have often wondered why the police bungled this probe so badly that the courts had to release all those who were arrested initially and in some cases even ordered the state to pay compensation.

S R Darapuri, a retired Indian Police Service officer has been fighting for several innocents picked up and tortured by the police in several cases of terrorism, including the Ajmer case. "Being a part of the establishment for 25 years, I fail to understand how the police can go so horribly wrong. The problem is that a majority of the force has a communal bias towards the minorities," the former top cop says.

In this interview with rediff.com, Darapauri explains how the police force is beset with bias and what needs to be done to tackle it.

What are your views on the shift in investigations into both the Ajmer and Mecca Masjid blasts case?

From day one, there was something fishy about the manner in which the investigations were being conducted. It looked like a complete frame up from the start. Many of us wondered why Muslims would blowing up their own shrines? Something did not add up from the beginning.

Are you saying that the same outfits carried out these blasts?

The Ajmer, Mecca Masjid, Malegaon and Goa blasts are all interlinked. I strongly suspect the role of Abhinav Bharat and the Sanathan Sanstha in these incidents. The uncanny resemblance in all these cases will tell you the story.

Do you believe that the police is on the right track now?

It looks fine at the moment. However, the biggest victory would be when innocents stop getting implicated in such cases. We must all thank (former Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad chief) Hemant Karkare who blew the lid off this phenomenon. The police were under the impression that it was the Muslims who were involved in all cases of terrorism. However Karkare exposed them. As a non-Muslim, I would like to say that while Muslim terror groups may carry out blasts in market places or other spots, they would never attack a mosque.

The police are largely to blame in such cases. They pick up the wrong persons and give a completely different spin to the case. Why does this happen?

There is a communal bias in the police department. I have seen that majority of the officers have a communal bias towards the minorities. This practice has been going on for a while now and no attempt has been made to stop this. Moreover there is no action against those police personnel who book innocent people in wrong cases. What has happened in Hyderabad? So many people were let off by the court. The police who booked the cases for reasons best known to them continue to remain unpunished.

What should be done to change this mindset of the police?

First the police should stop chanting the mantra 'Every Muslim is not a terrorist, but every terrorist is a Muslim.' This generalisation needs to stop. Even at the training level, police officers should be instilled with the correct mindset.

At the lower rung it gets worse and each one is affected by personal prejiduces which ultimately affects investigations.

Is there any kind of political pressure to act in a particular manner?

Yes, political pressure does exist. In many cases police officers have acted on political pressure and this kind of malice among them has affected all ranks of the force. There is a need to change the composition of the police force and ensure that they work more for the society. Today the police appear to be working towards nurturing their own personal prejudices.

What about the influence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in the force?

The RSS has been infiltrating the force and also the administration for a long time. You speak of changing attitudes of the police with the change in government. However that makes no difference due to this infiltration. They pretty much control a large part of the system.

first how can tell that DHD,DHQ(J),ULFA are Hindu terrorist organisation . there stated objective is to establish freedom for Assam from india(i do not know about DHD & DHD(J)) and not establishment of particular religion . Second on what basis u think ULFA leader (i cannot recall his name) is Hindu supporter on the contrary he gets support from LeT. Constitution of India describes/define every other religion except for Islam & Christianity sa sub branch of hindu religion and if i take yuor logic then even terrorist act by Sikhs is also an Hindu terrorism

the stated objective of most of islamic terrorist organisation is to bring old Islamic form of government(and yes their interpretation of Islam and not anyothers) eg SIMI whose goal was to bring ISLAMIC form of government in india second eg pakistan Let, JUD

2> got already has is informers in rss or shiv Sena or any other part. their is IB for this job and regular information is begin passed to central and
state government respectively .Now its job of state government and central to work upon it . But as u can see most of time state/ central government doesn`t work because of wested interest

this is biggest joke that rss has any influence. rss would have only influence when bjp is in power. its the concerned minister and party which is in power which has biggest influenec

And what this men was doing when he was in IPS . it had become fashion's in india to bas the IAS/IPS/JUDICIARY/DE FENCE organisation once u leave them

Because I am from Assam, and I have seen things closely. They are Hindu terrorist organizations in the sense they they are primarily Hindus. DHD, DHD(J), ULFA are composed of Hindus. Dimasas who make up DHD's cadres are Hindus and so are ULFA cadres. Do you think after creating these terrorist groups, they converted to Muslims? BS.

First of all, my request to you is to format your posts in a readable way. Secondly, read my earlier post again, and then ask nonsensical questions. Enlighten me about your knowledge about terrorism in the NE India.

I am not answerable to the rest of your unformatted post.
