The case of Lt.Col. Purohit gets curiouser by the day. The findings of the Military Court of Inquiry puts the ATS in a tight spot over their investigation it also puts the focus on the MI, which so far has not been questioned why did they have to mount a covert intelligence operation amongst Indian citizens in a non conflict zone.

In light of the above developing news item it makes logical sense for the Principal opposition party to oppose the appointment of the head oh NIA to the post of NHRC.

This lends credence at a very basic level that NIA was used to further the needs of the ruling combine to keep the opposition party under pressure.

i think Lt.Col. Purohit was made a scapegoat by the NIA just because he had a previous contact with Sadhvi Pragya.i mean i am not buying that usual stuff that the Lt.Col. was involved in the samjhauta blast.the man we are talking about is a senior officer of the Indian Army which is a strictly secular organization!i simply won't believe that a senior officer like him was involved in any terrorist activities.
now comes the most disturbing fact which is the NIA is still struggling to frame a case against Lt.Col. or for that matter against any member of Abhinava Bharat organization, besides the U.S. intelligence already pointed out the involvement of LeT in that blast and afaik they(the U.S. intelligence agencies) generally don't make mistakes like that if you can understand what's i'm trying to say.
i have found an interesting article on this matter, hope you all gonna think again about the involvement of Lt.Col.Purohit after going through this article!

There is too much of politics and less on actual investigation.

Every case, irrespective of what community the person arrested is, somehow indicates that politics always lurks behind such arrests.

Even in the curious case of Liaqat Ali Shah case who is said to have entered India to surrender, after so much of hype that he was here to organise a bomb blast by the Delhi Police, Omar objected, Govt shifted the case to NIA and now the so called surrender terrorist's bail wil not be contested by the NIA.

The fact is that either the Delhi Police was goofing off or was it that after the Afzal Guru case chaos, NIA was brought in so that the case can be 'managed' and repercussions in Kashmir avoided?

And how is it that a terrorist wants to surrender and the Delhi police is in the dark and goes and arrests the man?

Bottom line- Politics - keep all guessing and use cases to play hop scotch as per the flavour of the moment!

Intelligence is a dirty game and that's why intel officers are such heros. If they get caught they are on their own. Well this is usually when operatives work in foreign land. But if this happens at home, its pretty shameful that the one who has despite his "alleged" ideological leanings landed Pragya Thakur and the other one in the net, it says much about his professionalism, love for his country and his organization.
