ZPMC,the actual monopolist of global seaport/shipyard heavy engineering facilities, now has transfered the super crane "Goliath" to UK. the super crane "Goliath" is used to produce HMS queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers .

ZPMC is one CHinese company located in Shanghai and produces 80% of global seaport/shipyard heavy engineering facilites .

well, if it is not one made in china, it should be a big deal. however, since it is one made-in-China ,it surely is a crappy one.

I never claimed the crane to be crappy!

Was just wondering aloud if it was a big deal to supply a crane that a thread needed to be made for it. However, if you do feel it is so, then please carry on and pardon my obstructiveness! :namaste:

Good stuff.

China's industrial might is truly something to be proud of- and envious!

Give us some details on ZPMC. What other products does it manufacture?

well, it depends on the size.

For examle.

Hydtropress is not a big deal...even one middle-school student can work out some mini-hydropress,but super-sized hydrepress is a big deal.
Nowdays ,only 4 countries own 40K-ton-level + super-sized hydrepresses. Without those supersized hydrepress, the huge wings of big plane can not be forged.

That is why the 3 countries ( USA,Russia and France are exact the only 3 countries what can produce big planes and CHina is the only country that can jump into the club of " big plane" in forseeable future.

However, to work out supersized hydropress usually takes decades-long R&D and billons of investment.....sooo,most of countries in the world, including India, still can not produce super-size hydropress......it makes it impossible for india to produce the wing of big planes.

As early as more than 1,300 years ago during Tang Dynasty, boiling sugar method was introduced from ancient India into China, which brought sweet life to Chinese people. Today, "Made in China" low-carbon metro vehicle representing contemporary industrial civilization will run in New Delhi, the capital of India, so as to boost local economy's development and urban residents' traffic speed. On June 21, CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. signed a purchase & sales contract with Siemens in Beijing, and it would provide India New Delhi Gurgaon RMGL Metro Project with 15 metro vehicles 5 trains and 3-car formation. CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. will deliver the first metro vehicle in November 2011 and deliver all vehicles by March 2012.
With the economic development, India built up the first metro line 3.4km long in CALCUTTA city at the beginning of 1980s. Since then, urban rail transit got booming in India. Now, the country is building up metro line in seven cities like Bombay and Hyderabad, so as to meet India citizens' increasing demands for transportation.
India New Delhi RMGL Metro Project, Rapid MetroRail Gurgaon's turn-key project general contracting for signal, line, and vehicle etc., is 30km away from the downtown of New Delhi, and it is used to connect main business districts in Satellite City of Gurgaon. The project adopts elevated line with standard gauge and has a total length of 6.1km. Along the metro line there are six parking stations, and during the peak time for passenger transportation, the running interval is 90 seconds. It is roughly estimated that the metro line will transport at least 30,000 passengers for the Satellite City of Gurgaon.
It is learned that the metro vehicle's maximum speed is designed at 90km/h, with running speed hitting 80km/h, and its maximum passenger capacity rockets to 1,010 persons three-car formation. In consideration of New Delhi's high temperature up to 50 °C and rainy & dusty environment as well as to meet energy-saving and environmental protection requirements, CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. will also adopt high-strength light-weight aluminum alloy material that is more resistant to corrosion and has long service life up to 30 years, in addition to employing multi-compressor air conditioning unit featuring low energy consumption, favorable refrigerating effect, and intelligent adjustment to passenger flow, which helps each metro vehicle save electricity of 20,000 KWH per year as compared to the stainless steel metro vehicle of the same grade.
CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. will take account of the elevated line's characteristics to research and produce the metro vehicle in accordance with EN 50121 standard, ISO3381 standard, and ISO3095 standard etc., so as to reduce vehicle's electromagnetic radiation and running noise. It will also fix current guide rail on the side of the steel rail as well as install current receiver on both sides of the urban rail vehicle's bogie so as to gain the electric energy for running. In this way, the project does not need pantograph and air power grid's third rail current collecting technology, which will help reduce the metro vehicle's influence on safety of residents along the line and prevent it from damaging the environment along the line.'
CEO and General Manager of CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. Xu Zongxiang said: at that time, the company will be dedicated to research and production of low-carbon and energy-saving metro vehicle products, which will play a demonstrative role to power-scarce India in energy-saving and emission reduction sector, as well as further expand Chinese enterprises' cooperative space in India rail transit equipments market.

On March 20, China's first subway train for India was offline in CSR Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. The train with independent intellectual property right will be used in India's largest city Bombay. This is a breakthrough of China's rail transit equipment in the Indian market as well as China's first practice of exporting an A-type top subway train, marking an increase in the international competitiveness of China's rail transit equipment.

In the sun, the train was as pretty as a bride: gorgeous decorations, beautiful butterfly film, smooth stainless steel body and rich Indian tone.

In May 2008, CSR Puzhen stood out of international large companies to get an order of 18 wide-body and large-capacity rail transit vehicles 108 carriages as the winner of the international bid for subway trains in Bombay, India. In the past 22 months, guided by the lean concept, CSR Puzhen made all-round technical breakthrough on the independent R & D platform, rapidly tackled design and manufacturing problems according to large transportation capacity, complicated running environment, high technical requirements and other characteristics of subway in Bombay, and particularly achieved major breakthroughs in 25,000V AC-DC-AC technology, development of super-wide, high-strength and light stainless steel body, sound insulation and noise reduction technology, and bogie R & D.

Apart from advanced performance of domestic A-type subway trains, the train for Subway 1 in Bombay has many unique characteristics. It uses 25,000V AC-DC-AC technology first at home, with a body width of 200mm higher than domestic A-type subway trains and a compressive and tensile strength of 50% higher than domestic stainless steel bodies; each train has a rated transportation capacity of 390 passengers, 72 more than that of domestic A-type trains; with 17-ton axles, it is marshaled by two motors and two trailers and driven in a full-automatic manner.

As a coastal city, Bombay is hot, rainy and dusty throughout the year, lines have many curves and small turning radii, and the average station distance is only 980m. The train not only fully reflects the human-oriented requirements for bright colors in internal and external design, but also gives full consideration to the requirements for running environment, noise reduction and dust prevention, and ultra-short fast start and braking. With a maximum running temperature of 55℃, an internal noise loudness of 66dB, 3 dB lower than that of domestic A-type trains, a running humidity of 100%,a minimum curve radius of 80m and a maximum running speed of 80km/h, it can fully meet the requirements of complicated and volatile terrains and climate and environment changes in Bombay.

CSR is China's largest rail transit equipment manufacturer, under which Puzhen is a major development base of China's city subway and inter-city trains. The company has got orders for several city subway and inter-city projects in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shenzhen and on Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen line, and gained rich successful experience in business operations. Through integration of core technologies, independent R & D of manufacturing technologies and introduction of diverse auxiliary equipment, CSR Puzhen has explored a road of independent innovation with an international industrial competitive edge, laying a solid foundation for globalization.

According to the source, the first wide-body large-capacity subway train for Bombay will be shipped from Shanghai to Bombay on March 23 and put into business operation after a series of running tests on main lines.
