In a country with free press, news will eventually have to reflect the ground realities.
But there is another problem, these free press can only reflect the part of ground realities which fit their ideology.

If China wants to end the negative news against China, it simply has to stop the bullying and cunning practices it follow.
I doubt they want it to stop, maybe they just want to balance it. After all, India is an important market.

Everything will fall in place automatically. But then again, expecting China to be rational and on the good side is too much to expect.
How you define "rational"?
Accepting whatever India said?
Giving whatever India asked?
Well, that is too much to expect!

It blames West for everything that happens in the day and then does the same if not worse by the night. They got so accustomed to this game of lies that they actually start believing they are on the right side!!
How does it blames West for everything that happens in the day?
Did China blame West for its flood?
Did China blame west for its lagging behind?
Did China blame west for its corruption?
Did China blame west for its food safty?

The Indian media has played vital role in the last few years. China is worried that a Border Incursion wont be taken lying down by an aggressive Indian public.

A free press would be left with no choice than to report though they don't like it. They can't supress the news, else they can't survive. That's part of being free press. It's not something you can understand easily.

That is called lack of vision. One should be wise enough to know whom to make friends with and whom to balance. USA made friends with Pakistan and Russia made friends with India. USA poured money while Russia earned it. There would have been an Asian century much sooner if China has understood this simple fact. It's not always a zero sum game as China thinks.

Being rational means not blaming our media for reporting your transgressions across the boundary.
Being rational means not expanding border claims every 5 years. Being rational means having atleast a single unchanging claim map.
Being rational means following the border agreements when you signed it and following the rules you agreed to.
being rational means following set practices when there is a confrontation.
being rational means not to claim the entire sea till the borders of nations far from the country.

If you are rational enough to use common-sense, you will get some respect.

China blames US for meddling in Asia to contain China while China actively engages to contain India. Isn't that duplicity?
China blames US for it's financial institutions and yet China does the same.
China blames US for bullying other nations. Isn't China doing the same?
China blames US for it's spying program and China is very well know for stealing secrets.

Shamelessly, you are laying a road for another 100 years of shame.

FYI, checked my sources in the Chinese MFA - this article is a smear piece, pure and simple. China has no coordinated campaign to try and censor or even influence India's media. The budget allocated for South Asia public affairs is paltry - it would barely cover a few plane tickets and hotel rooms.

The bigger question is why does the Diplomat, a Tokyo-based paper, want to pre-emptively poison Indian media against engaging with their Chinese counterparts?
