    This is actually a good idea. We should study the possibility of it being used in an Aircraft Carrier like the Vikrmaditya, its radar range can be greatly improved.

    Do you think we should really use those world war 1 techniques now [​IMG]

    I don't know the exact features of the present days aerostat Well if they are that helpfull Please explain

    Their are nothing call obsolete, What comes is just the update of its previous in minor or major form, Aerostat are cheap and operational cost is also cheap, It stay up as long as you want, It can be used as :

    1. UAV for survallence at high altitudes..

    2. For communication purpose..


    It use is specifically can be in COIN area such as J&K, instead deploying a UAV like Searcher or Helicopter for Intel, we can hang one of these for weeks and the network is always on..

    this is a great thing we are using earostat in Gaza to spot infiltration
    its cheap and reliable to operate
    we put sar and optical payload on ours
    very good development for India
