well

the 1st railway in Ganzhou was built in 1996. Before that ,there is no railway in Ganzhou prefecture.
Now,Ganzhou had more than 1000 KM long railways, except the 500KM long highspeed railway under construction.

before 2003, there was not one-inch expressways in Ganzhou prefecture.
Since 2003,over 1200KM expressways have been finished in Ganzhou prefecture, which is as large as Danmark or 1/5 of Nepal.
now ,a decent expressway net connect its 2 urban districts , 16 counties with neighbour prefectures.

it is too expensive... the 400+KM long highspeed railway journey between SHanghai-Nanjing takes 75 minute ,but it costs only 140RMB(22 Euros or so )
CHina-made infastructures usually cost much less than west-made ones...

That is really fast. Our train goes only 200 km/h, but that is enough for our needs. I guess operating costs are less there and also more passengers to keep the prices down.

it also keeps its old anvenue, because it had a history of 2000+ years old.
in fact, District Zhanggongqu was built on about 200 BC.
During Song Dynasty(960AD-1279AD), it was one of most perperous cities in CHina(also in the world..because CHina was most persperous country in the world at that time)
BTW, the walls here were most built during Song Dynastry.

I think here is too quiet for somebody who is used to population rich country like India. Some Japanese tourists have had nervous breakdowns in our quietness. So I really cannot recommend Finland for Asian people.

Ganzhou prefecture once was persperous ,but now it is one of poorest prefuctures in CHina...
the map shows the rank of wealth and prosperity in CHina....
Red areas are richest prefectures; yellow areas are decent ones;Deep yellow areas are poor ones;Blue ares(including Ganzhou) are poorest ones.

it is mainly because Ganzhou prefecture lacks of decent infrastrucures such as railways that it now economically has be left behind by its neighbour prefectures.
As we see, many of its neighbours prefectures has highspeed railways already.
For the sake of God, those bureaucratic lords in Beijing finally remember extending the highspeed railways into the poor prefectures.

Does your city have problems with pollution? I heard China is doing good progress in that regard.

generally speaking, envirioment here is sound.after all, there is no desert here.

the problem is the fast vanishing of villages, due to fast urbanizaiton.

In the past 2 decades, the viilage population has been decreasing quite fast..

only those old and kids stays in villages. those kids will leave villages when they grow up .
Thus, after those old died , those declining villages will vanish.
