Terror attack on CRPF camp in Srinagar: 5 jawans, 2 militants killed - Hindustan Times
Militants on Wednesday struck at a camp of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Five paramilitary police and two militants have died in an ambush on security forces in Srinagar, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.
"Five CRPF
(Central Reserve Police Force) men were killed in the suicide attack on a group of about 25 men who were on duty," said the police officer, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the media.
According to the report, two militants were also killed during the firing.
Police spokesman Manoj Sheeri said that militants struck at a CRPF camp in Bemina on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday morning.
"Initial reports say that five CRPF men have lost their lives. The two attackers were also killed in the attack," Sheeri said.
The official said that it was yet to be confirmed whether it was a suicide attack, or gunmen directly stormed the camp firing bullets and grenades.
