Tanks with urban survivability kits.
These are my old observations that were not entirely correct. For example armor thickness. As we know now, Leo2 have armor max ~800-840mm thick at front and ~300mm or more at turret sides over crew compartment.Ok, more pics and some sort of my observations.
Side turret armor is not angled, it's no more than ~200-250mm LOS thick and only over crew compartment, turret bustle is only protected against ammo from auto cannons up to 30mm.
Frontal turret armor is ~770-800mm LOS thick (in comparison, M1A1/A2 and CR2 frontal armor turret armor is ~870-900mm LOS thick) and offers good protection values, but there are two gaps in armor protection, big gun mantle and place for GPS (Gunners Primary Sight), of course behind GPS there is multilayer laminate armor but in some angles there is probability that armor can be perforated even by an autocannon.
This turret is an Leopard 2A6HEL an derivaties of Leopard 2A6EX, other very similiar derivatives are Leopard 2A6E and Leopard 2A5S/Strv122.
M1A1SA side turret armor LOS thicknes, based on were are welds placed.
