Taliban in a letter warn Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi not to make any decision that prompts Islamic Emirate’s reaction

Afghan Taliban have warned the leader of the Islamic States Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi not to make any decision that prompts the reaction of the Islamic Emirate.

In a open letter published on Taliban’s website in three languages Arabic, Dari and Pashto, the militant group states that Islamic Emirate wants “Jihad” only under its name in Afghanistan.

The letter further states that the Emirate in Afghanistan under the leadership of Mullah Mohammad Omar is approved by 1500 Afghan Ulemas who have pledged allegiance with it and there for drawing a parallel line with it is neither required by Sharia nor by logic.

The letter adds that several groups under the name of “Mujahideen” have mobilized to unpopular the name of Jihad in the past but they have been vanished pretty soon.

The letter that is signed by Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansoor, identified as the deputy of the Islamic Emirate and member of the Shura (council) of the leaders, express concern that those people might gather under the name of the Islamic State and misuse it.

The Islamic State must work for the unity of the “brothers” of Islamic Emirate and not to make decisions from far distance that causes the anger and hate of leaders of the “Mujahideen” here and prompt reaction of the Islamic Emirate.

However, reports published earlier suggested that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was seriously wounded and is not able to handle the network. Other reports published indicated that al-Baghdadi has succumbed to his injuries and the group has appointed a replacement for him.

What is the religious sect of talibanis ?

Can this opportunity , be used by intelligence agency , to create a "confusion" and bitterness among them and between ISIS ?

what royal confusion is the media perpetrating! at times it 'glamourises' the atrocities of IS, then tells baghdadi is dead, then tell he's injured, then celebrate the near-decimation of it, and now this! barely 4 hrs back the same WP had reported 'massive defeat for IS', and now back to fear-mongering!

sectarian lineage is the same i think, sunni wahaabis; ethnicities may differ. but they are already fighting turf wars, even the talibanis within themselves (like the attack on peshawar school). even in the taliban, there are differences, for instance mulla umar was against the destruction of the Baamiyaan Buddha statues, but his voice was overpowered by other factions. so may be alongwith making them fight each other for turf, such differences could also be exploited.

Analysts view Daesh emergence a threat to Taliban

    By Pajhwok Report
    On Jun 16, 2015 - 19:10

KABUL (Pajhwok): The growing Islamic State (IS) or Daesh strength has challenged Taliban’s legitimacy, which forced the latter to write a letter to Daesh leader, analysts said on Tuesday.

Mullah Akhtar Mansoor, acting head of Taliban militants, had written a letter to Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. The letter had nine points asking IS not to interfere in each other activities, working under same flag and focusing on unity and solidarity.

Taliban at the end had also mentioned that they would show their stern reaction if their achievements were threatened and challenged.

Fazi Mohammad Zaland, a political analyst, said: “Taliban are fighting for establishment of Islamic Emirates and they are against presence of foreign troops whereas Daesh claimed for Islamic caliphate and plans to establish a state with the name of Khurasan.”

In short, Taliban had been confined to Afghanistan alone while Daesh considered Pakistan, India, Iran and central Asian states as parts of Khurasan.

Zaland added that using message of Islam is the sole similarity between the two groups which Taliban had noticed a huge threat in using the message of Islam. “Taliban militants have been fighting for the last 13 years and have suffered heavy losses. Afghan war has inflicted considerable damage on Taliban,” he said, adding that Daesh could be a challenge for Taliban since IS had energetic young people, abundance of wealth, blessed with strong Arab support.

Taliban’s letter to Daesh also showed their weakness, he said, fearing that Taliban and Daesh fight could be fatal for Afghanistan and the entire region.

Pashtuns would be killed from both sides whereas Pashtun soil would be an arena of the battle while the strangers would get benefit out of the war, he predicted.

Khushal Khalil, another political analyst, assumed the letter ascertained Taliban legitimacy had been threatened. “Pakistan remained legitimate religious source of Taliban whereas Baghdad is the source of legitimacy for Daesh. The emergence of Daesh has put Taliban’s legitimacy at stake,” he added.

“Daesh leader fulfilled all criteria of being Caliphate since he is Qureshi by tribe of Arab and also belongs to a Hussaini sect,” Khalil added. “Taliban’s letter showed they did not have strength to fight Daesh therefore they want to use diplomacy to deal with Daesh,” he observed.

Mohammad Hassan Haqyar, a political analyst, said: “The aim of Taliban is to know and get information regarding Daesh and to know who basically provide support to Daesh.”

Maulvi Muslim Dost, a local Daesh leader, harshly criticized Taliban militants therefore Taliban retreated back to at least reply to them.

“Taliban did not want to fight Daesh but to convince them they have the same agenda therefore Taliban used soft tone in their letter to Daesh”, Haqyar said, adding Taliban could use harsh language if the dispute between the two groups was intensified.

@Zebra - earlier this year, a Hindi news channel had aired a documentary on an Indonesian Islamist outfit, that's supposedly richer and more powerful than IS; it showed some HD videos of fleets SUVs and sedans that those jihadis use to travel and 'preach'. i forgot its name. do you have any idea about it?
