Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy on Saturday submitted documentary evidence against Home Minister P Chidambaram’s involvement in the 2G spectrum scam before a Delhi Court. The case has now been adjourned to Januray 21.

Special CBI Judge OP Saini, while accepting the documents for examination, adjourned the hearing in the case till January 21.
[IMG]uring the last hearing, Swamy had sought more time to produce fresh documents before the court. PTI

The documents include memos of the Finance Ministry, the CIT and copies of letters exchanged between Chidambaram who was the then Finace Minister, and former telecom minister ARaja and the Prime Minister, said a CNN IBN report.
The court has accepted his documents as ‘evidence’,” Swamy said while talking to reporters outside the court on Saturday. Shortly after which he tweeted “Evidence accepted. Arguments for Summoning PC on 21st.”
On 17 December, Swami Swamy testified against Chidambaram in the Patiala House court, where the court sought certified copies of the documents on which Swamy relied while filing his petition, from the Parliament and concerned departments.
Swamy has said that he would place an appeal to summon Chidambaram in the court as an accused. He alleged that Chidambaram and former telecom minister A Raja conspired together in the 2G scam and compromised national security.
Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister when the 2G scam took place. Swamy’s petition had further stated that the Prime Minister, in his statement made on the floor of Rajya Sabha on February 24, 2011, had said that pricing of spectrum was taken on the basis of a Cabinet decision of 2003 which specifically said that the issue would be determined by the Ministry of Finance and Department of Telecommunication.
The special judge had allowed petitioner’s plea, saying that in view of his knowledge of “fresh evidence” on the identity of other conspirators, he be allowed to depose again in the case.
“By 7th I will have given those documents and then I will move section 319 of CRPC that Mr Chidambaram be summoned in the court as an accused,” Swami had said in his court hearing in December 2011.
