ISLAMABAD, Aug 9 (APP): Pakistan and Tajikistan on Tuesday expressed willingness to build railway link from China to Gwadar Port through Tajikistan and Afghanistan for proper utilization of the facilities already available at Gwadar Port. They agreed to work together towards this end in a quadrilateral format including China and Afghanistan, said a message received from Dushanbe.
These views were shared by Federal Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Oqil Oqilov and Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Hamrakhon Zarifi during his meetings with the Tajik dignitaries.
The Minister briefed Prime Minister Oqilov and Foreign Minister Zarifi on the fruitful discussions he had yesterday with his Tajik counterpart, Hakimov Nizom, regarding confluence of ideas and plans on air and surface connectivity between Pakistan and Tajikistan and regional road and rail corridors.
Minister Arbab Alamgir congratulated both Tajik leaders on the forthcoming 20th Independence Anniversary of Tajikistan and conveyed the best wishes of the President, the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan to the Tajik nation.
Tajik Prime Minister and Foreign Minister said that the Tajik Government highly valued its existing relations with Pakistan and was keen to further enhance people-to-people contacts, trade and tourism between the two countries.
The Minister for Communications will visit the Ishkashim city in the Gorno-Badakhshan Province of Tajikistan tomorrow to see the area from where road link may be established between the two countries through Wakhan corridor to Chitral.

Hahahaha @farhan_9909, your continuous assertion of Imran Khan being a leader with balls and the only one reminds me of something.

Don't keep too many hopes in him. He has proven to being an idiot.

Quite frankly you guys have no choice. Same as in India at the moment where people are left to choosing the lesser evil.

But frankly IK is not going to be your savior. He has shared platforms with terrorists. Once in power, these people will demand their pound of flesh. You will see more terror in your own country.

Tajikistan is anti-Iran? I will have what you are having.

Besides why will they opt for this route (you aren't going to go through AFG), when there is are perfectly viable and EXISTING trade routes through China and the CARs to Iran?

Put your money where your mouth is and first build the railroad.

despite pak being 3.5 times smaller than India
seems like the Indian land is dud with neither any strategic importance nor resources

despite being a much bigger economy has no role in world politics as well
If having strategic importance and role in world politics costs Remond Davis shooting your citizens in broad daylight and your Govt has no other options to free him then we are not interested in having role in world politics and we are happy that our land does not have a strategic importance.

If it costs you american day night bombing killing your soldiers, citizens and making mockery of your so called sovereignty then sorry we are not interested. Shall we have a look on your GIFTS given by sam uncle for being strategically important and having role in world politics?

List of US attacks on Pak
2004: 1
2005: 3
2006: 3
2007: 5
2008: 38
2009: 55 (Bush ordered 2 bombings in 2009 before Obama took over)
2010: 128
2011: 76
2012: 22 = 333 (June 26)

Source: http://----------------------------/index.php?showtopic=99033&st=40

Sorry we are actually not interested in being a brothel of super powers...Now US in future may be China....if you are having good resources, great strategic location then you should try to be great power by properly using it for your own nation's good and then try to influence the world politics instead of being a sale outs to super powers and stay in head lines of world politics...sorry for my harsh language but some times posts from a knowledgeable members like you surprise me.

Unless it's not shown on the map, I don't see any kind of railway line from Gwadar to any other part of Balochistan; or from Gwadar to Dera Ismail Khan or any other point on the route envisaged. That's half your country we're talking about, that's not connected to any rail network even remotely (through an accessible station). The only extensive rail infrastructure that exists, but is certainly not suitable for 'high speed' goods transport, is a circuitous route that traverses Quetta-Sibbi-Jacobabad and then on to the Sindh or Punjab. In terms of the direct Gwadar-Kashghar route proposed, the only section I see as probably being usable is the one between DIK and Havelian, and that is about 1/12th of the length of the proposed route, and will require extensive re-investment and upgradation in itself.

you should have atleast read this.
Ok, so what is your point exactly?

There is no way you are going to get a road/railway through Wakhan, and i don't see how Tajikistan would want a rail link all the way around passing through China into Gorno-Badakshan, where there is pretty much no industry to speak of. So apparently in your world, longer and more dangerous means better.

I find this the most amusing statement for the decade.

It indicates how deficit you are on understanding what is strategy and what is resource!

this was nt a dream bt reality
in 2007 even funds were issued for feasibility study.

atleast search about khubjerab railway before making such statement.would save you alot of embarrassment.believe me
It's a pipe dream is reality freind. Pakistan hasn't got the funds and do you think big brother China is going to bank-roll you in everything?

If pakistan is considered as statistically important and what has become of it today due to delusions and retarded 'strategic' mentality of pakis, then I don't want India to do anything with Strategy! ;)

Atleast we will keep our selves away from becoming pakistan or somalia - a failed state!

P.S: I can expect all this demented assertions from delusional pakis due to their Islamiyat education and Islamic upbringing, moreover they need to read how resourceful India is in terms of natural resources and minerals, and where pakistan stands in comparison - rather than having Islamic internet wet dreams !
