The city of Sochi rightfully prides itself on the fact that representatives of over 100 nationalities peacefully get on over here. Each diaspora prepares its own artistic greetings to the participants in the Relay which is one of the main symbols of the Olympics.

USA playing the 'gay rights' card

USOC Sponsor AT&T Condemns Russia's Anti-Gay Law

US Olympic Committee sponsor AT&T has condemned a Russian law restricting gay-rights activity as Sochi prepares to host the Winter Olympics.
The telecommunications giant said in a blog post that the law is harmful to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and harmful to a diverse society.
"We support LGBT equality globally and we condemn violence, discrimination and harassment targeted against LGBT individuals everywhere," AT&T said in the post.
AT&T said it was responding to a request from the Human Rights Campaign, which urged International Olympic Committee sponsors to stand up for LGBT equality.
AT&T isn't an IOC sponsor, but says it supports the campaign's principles.
AT&T is the first major US corporation to publicly condemn Russia's law, Human Rights Campaign officials said.
The Washington-based organization that pushes for civil rights for LGBT people called AT&T's move courageous.
"AT&T should be recognized for showing true leadership in opposing this hateful Russian law and other sponsors that have failed to lead should take corrective action immediately," the campaign said in a post on its website. "A company that claims to support LGBT equality should do so wherever it operates, not just in the United States."
The law, signed by President Vladimir Putin in July, bans pro-gay "propaganda" that could be accessible to minors.

Activists view the measure as forbidding almost any public expression of gay-rights sentiment.
The law has extensive public support in Russia, where it cleared parliament virtually unopposed.
Activists have pressed the IOC and Olympic sponsors to denounce the law and call for its repeal, launching a campaign in July with a boycott of Russian vodka.
The IOC and top sponsors have expressed opposition to discrimination in general and pledged to ensure that people gathering for the Olympics wouldn't be affected by the law.
A coalition of 40 international groups, including the Human Rights Campaign along with Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, sent an open letter to the 10 biggest Olympic sponsors last week urging them to run ads promoting equality for LGBT people.
On Tuesday, Human Rights Watch posted a video on YouTube of gay people being bullied, chased and beaten, compiled from footage the group said was uploaded by perpetrators.
The video got more than 700,000 views in less than two days.
A New York group planned demonstrations Wednesday in 19 cities worldwide, including St. Petersburg, Jerusalem and Rio de Janiero, the site of the 2016 Summer Games, to urge Olympics sponsors to speak out against the law.

First, they don't seem to understand (or are ignoring) what the Russian law is about.
Second, keep politics out of sports.

More BS:

UN Chief Urges IOC in Sochi to Halt Discrimination of Gays

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon used a speech to International Olympic Committee officials in Sochi on Thursday to urge an end to attacks against gays, bisexual and transgender people.
Ban's remarks come on the eve of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, which some fear could be overshadowed by international clamor over a recently adopted Russian law banning the promotion of homosexuality among minors.
"Hatred of any kind must have no place in the 21st century," Ban was quoted as saying by Agence France-Press at the 126th Session of the IOC taking place in the southern Russian city.
Ban did not single out Russia for criticism, but appeared to be alluding to the laws aimed at gay people in his remarks.
"We must oppose the arrest, imprisonment and discriminatory restrictions they face," Agence France-Press cited him as saying.
Ban told the IOC session that everyone should join together to battle against discrimination.
He also said the IOC members of the need to treat women equally, the Australian Olympic team's official website reported.
In Sochi, women are set to compete in the ski jump for the first time in the Games history.

What is this puppet talking about ?
There are no attacks, there is a ban on homo propaganda, what part of that do they not understand ?

Scrapping the Indian Olympic association is one kind of boon for Indian sports. These guys are like travelers who do not concentrate on sports development in India.

I hope a new Olympic association will be formed before the next Olympics so that India will do better.

Some kind of clean up is going on in IOA because the guys in the previous committee are well connected and has influence to defend their positions. Reason why the entire association was scrapped to make it accountable and induce new sports culture.
