I think this was not a spy or commando deployment.I think their GOC must be assesing the ground features and the situation in this sortie.

Army would've been well within their rights to shoot down this idiot as perceived threat. But since we also use helicopters at forward area for emergency evacuation, they let him go.

Yes this was to see what is on the other side, commando deployment doesn't happen in day light for everyone to see their deployment at such forward location.

300 meter from LoC means they were there to watch the deployment on the Indian side. Forces could have shot It down, would have been good propaganda material.
