GILGIT/SKARDU: Curfew remains clamped till the filing of this report, following yesterday's bedlam over here, while a petrol pump was set ablaze in Skardu, Geo News reported.

On the other hand forty passengers, who had escaped firing on the bus in Chilas, have been shifted to Skardu, while Gilgit's urban areas, where curlew was clamped yesterday morning at 10 A.M., still remain under curfew without break and Pakistan Army contingents are patrolling the volatile areas. Besides, Gilgit Baltistan police and scouts' additional contingents are also posted. Mobile phone service and telecommunications in the city remained suspended.

All has been set by the Pakistan Army for bringing to Gilgit from Chilas the bodies of the nine dead passengers killed in target killings, whose caskets would be taken to their native villages.

Skardu observing strike today, as all the educational institutions, office and markets remain closed and roads giving a deserted look, while the district administration slapping section 144 has forbidden show off of arms. Unknown persons have set ablaze a petrol pump at a place called Hotu.

Persons stranded in different districts during riots and bloody violence are being shifted to the safe places by the security forces.

Initial report about the Gilgit/Chilas yesterday's violence has been sent to the federal government. According to the report, a rally was taken out yesterday against the arrest of Maulana Ataullah. Ahl-e-Sunnat o Al-Jamaat's rally was fired upon and attacked with hand grenade killing six persons.

Later, four buses on way to Chilas under police escort were surrounded and attacked by about 40 motorcycle riders that killed nine passengers, while four of them died of drowning, as they had jumped into the river to escape the attack.

UN should intervene enough is enough. Situation in pak is getting out of control.
