Sikh groups protests Sonia Gandhi presence in US

NEW YORK: A US-based Sikh group has approached secretary of state Hillary Clinton demanding the exclusion of Congress party President Sonia Gandhi from the United States. "Sonia Gandhi's entry and presence in the US is in violation of section 212(a)(3)(E)(ii) & (iii) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and section 604 of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998," the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) said in a letter to Clinton.

These laws prohibit entry into the US of any individual who, outside of the US, has ordered, incited, assisted or in any way participated in the commission of any act of torture or extra judicial killing, SFJ legal advisor, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun wrote.Sonia Gandhi is "inadmissible" to the US because as president of the Indian National Congress party she has been actively covering up the Sikh genocide and shielding her party leaders who were key players in executing the atrocities of November 1984, he said.

SFJ alleged that India's Congress party had organized the genocide to avenge the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her two Sikh bodyguards.

SFJ alleged that India's Congress party organised the Delhi riots.

    That is true,

However, Sonia G was not in the Congress Party when it occured.

Why take it out on her?

It should be the Congress Party that should be culpable but then the question arises as to how come this organisation was silent when Bush was playing footsie with Manmohan Singh's Congress led UPA I?

Bush would have just applied the Patriotic Act and taught them a lesson or two and that is why they were silent.

    Foolish people with foolish protests.

Ray sir, you are indeed on fire today!!

Why can't these folks put their energies into more worthwhile endeavours? How about helping out scores of drug addicts in Punjab to start with?

They are baptized Sikhs. They have to wear 5Ks,

    Five Ks

    Main articles: Khalsa and Sahajdhari

Kanga, Kara and Kirpan—three of the five articles of faith endowed to the Sikhs.
The Five Ks, or panj kakaar/kakke, are five articles of faith that all baptized Sikhs (also called Khalsa Sikhs) are typically obliged to wear at all times, as commanded by the tenth Sikh Guru, who so ordered on the day of Baisakhi Amrit Sanskar in 1699. The symbols are worn for identification and representation of the ideals of Sikhism, such as honesty, equality, fidelity, militarism, meditating on God, and never bowing to tyranny.[34]
    The five symbols are:
Kesh (uncut hair, usually tied and wrapped in the Sikh Turban, Dastar)
Kanga (a wooden comb, usually worn under the Dastar)
Katchera (specially made cotton underwear as a reminder of the commitment to purity)
Kara (an iron bracelet, which is a symbol of eternity)
Kirpan (a curved sword, which comes in different sizes; for example in the UK Sikhs would wear a small sharp dagger, whereas in the Punjab Sikhs would wear the traditional curved sword, from one to three feet in length)
