Make the southern states so prosperous that the people from other region look to settle down south and add more to the southern prosperity using their expertise. Increasing population is the worse option which will backfire on the region and the nation.

No not at all South has made progress because of population control and good governance

And this point that South will loose number of constituncies is all nonsense

All Right minded Indians Whether North or South will NOT ALLOW any state to be penalised because of
    population control

Secondly just look at the mess of UP and Bihar

Population control is the need of the hour

But democracy comes in the way of " enforcing " population control

But the common man is definitely aware of the link between inflation and high population

Some time in the future ie at the next census ie in 2021 GOI will make a subtle ANNOUNCEMENT

" Control population BECAUSE we dont have enough LAND LEFT to grow MORE FOOD "

Population Control is inevitable there is no other way

Dont know if Gujarat is considered North or west or what as we have been clear of the divide in that regard, but then we have settled down south for what 40+ years now and surely welcome others like me and professionals down here to add to the prosperity.

This is one of the shyttest law one can hear. India should look forward to reducing it's population growth. Maybe we could teach the bihkari's some lesson! We are the light and shinning beacon.

    Okay, I was trolling...

    @fertility rate:

Most of the prosperous "North Indian" states are quite close to 2 and decreasing. High rates are there mostly in the Hindi belt and North East states, which will also decrease in time. There is no real demographic threat.

This thread is seriously :frusty: , so couldn't resist urge to troll

Some migration due to labour shortages is inevitable

In Delhi and Gurgaon Bangladeshi domestic maids are the only available option

Similarly in Maharashtra Punjab Gujarat and Delhi without North Indian labour ie UP / Bihar
it is not possible to run the economy

What is sensible about this thread ? We have posts peddling the view that South India is deliberately kept on low fertility level per a master plan by the government

How is this any different from Zaid Hamid lunacy ?

Guys this may seem like something funny or Propaganda by Pakis but it is not.
LS seats are allocated after delimitaion exercises according to Population. The next Seat ratio calculation will be made using the 2031 Census data.

For states that have much less population, 2026 will be a Wakeup call and 2031 will be a shocker.

I do not believe this is deliberate. But nevertheless it has great potentiol for harm
. The states that will lose Parliamentary representation will be the South States.
As a south Indian I am concerned.
The Govt should either come out in the open and say that they will reward states with higher TFR with more LS seats or they should freeze the number of LS seats allocated to states permanently.

Those who say it is deliberate are not me.Don't look at the intentions but the potential. It is true that the South will lose LS seats after 2026 due to lesser population.

OK I edited the uncomfortable "deliberate" part.
