I think an anthem which has one section in Hindi, then in Tamil and other indigenous languages should be made. In my opinion this will help with overall unity.
No , the current national anthem is best which shows the cultural diversity of Indian nation

You are right but as the OP said it is not assertive enough and ALOT of Indians don't feel anything for it.

I have never saw any Indian who is saying anything against National Anthem . The Current National Anthem shows the diversity of the Indian union .

and a wee bit of each of the 14 recognised languages and according to Census of India of 2001, 30 languages that are spoken by more than a million native speakers, 122 by more than 10,000, right?

Will surely make it real nationalistic, what ho?

Jana Gana Mana always brings out the patriotic fervour in me. I get goosebumps every single time I listen to it. It's a worthy National Anthem, IMO.

Those who find the Jana Gana Mana uninspiring, better get an education on it's true meaning. And if it still does not vitalize you, well, you're past your prime, Grandpa! Better pop a few Viagra pills & try again!

India's national bird is the peacock

It is abundant in Rajsathan.

It is not found in many parts of India.

Yet crows are there everywhere.

I am sure you will recommend the crow as the national bid, right?

I would not assume that those five villages as an example would represent the whole of South India and India itself.

And it is blog and not authentic information.
As for authenticity, 3 of the above villages were covered in a special report on Rajya Sabha TV (or, was it Lok Sabha TV ?). So, it's veracity shouldn't be suspect.

Are you English Wannabe? Any thing Indian is bad and any thing english is good. I am truly upset.

Why we should write our national anthem in English? English is foreigner's language, yes to smo extent we need english, but at first we need to study our mother tongue and subject carefully, not language, English is only needed to express ourselves to outer world.

To meet with other people we spend a certain time out of our home, does it mean we should never stay in our house?

To those who are saying our National Anthem is not inspiring, then I suggest them to say what should be our National anthem which will be inspiring? What song?

Oppa Gangnam Style or Kolaveri Di?:mad:
@angeldude13 Bandey Matram is indeed a great song, but Muslims oppose it, we need to be careful about that as Muslims dont bow before any one else other than Allah or their God.

So Jana Gana Mana is best choice for me.

Why do you need a patriotic anthem or song to inspire any patriotic fervor ? Shouldn't it be present per deafult...

What if it sounds peaceful ? Are you going to wage war on your gora neighbor ? In that case, any IA regiment war-cry would be handy: Bol Jwala Ma Ki Ja, Raja Ram Chandra Ki Jai or the eternal Har Har Mahadev.

:hair: What an inconsequential thread, but very much in line with expectation from our resident troll.

I presume that one requires a patriotic song to ignite the nationalism in a person because one cannot maintain a continuous patriotic fervour throughout one's every living moment.

So, when the mood is low, a dose of patriotism ignites a feel good feeling!

As a matter of habit, I do not watch anything promoted by the Govt since it is more of a fudge or disingenuously presented in pursuant to an agenda and very one sided in views!

For instance, take the case of Hindi.

Most believe that Hindi is the national language, when in actuality it is not. It is just an official language and no more than that. And yet, it has been subtly projected without actually mentioning it so, as India's national language.

The present one does its job, then. Well, for most people.

Sir, if feasible, give Rajya Sabha channel, a try. For Documentaries or for reports. That's the one Hindi channel I follow. It's standard is way above any Hindi news channel.

Muslims oppose so many things, does that mean we stop discussing on this ? Muslim's thinking is immaterial in this discussion.

All India Sunni Ulema Board on 6 Sep 2006, issued a fatwa that the Muslims can sing the first two verses of the song. The Board president Moulana Mufti Syed Shah Badruddin Qadri Aljeelani said that "If you bow at the feet of your mother with respect, it is not shirk(polytheism) but only respect."

Shia scholar and All India Muslim Personal Law Board vice-president Maulana Kalbe Sadiq stated on 5 Sep 2006 that scholars need to examine the term vande. He asked, "Does it mean salutation or worship?"

So basically as long as you interpret Vande Mataram as respect/salutation to the motherland, Muslims do not have any problem with it. But if the interpretation is Worship of the "God" Mother India, then there is a problem as the kalma says there is only one god.
