New Delhi: Seven terrorists have been killed by the Army in an ongoing encounter in Lolab in north Kashmir.

A few more terrorists may be hiding in the area, the Army said.

J&K: Army kills seven terrorists as gun battle breaks out in Kupwara

Gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kupwara district of north Kashmir in which seven terrorists were killed on Monday.

Security forces launched a 'cordon and search' operation in the forest area of Lolab in Kupwara district on Monday afternoon after getting information about the presence of terrorist there, they said.

The gun battle started as soon as terrorists opened fire on security forces drawing retaliation, they said.Intermittent exchange of fire was on till the filing of this report.
