Politics in India is a huge charade. Shinde, as the Home Minsiter, batted for special treatment for Muslims languishing in jail, and now, his daughter is demanding a ban on a Muslim Party!!! And the Congress is the leader of the heap of such a political circus giving credence to the charge that they are pseudo secularists. Instead of pouring vitriol, should all not introspect as to why MIM has found a voice in Maharastra, albeit in an area what was from the erstwhile Nizam's State? What does the rise of MIM beyond Hyderabad signifies and that too in a State that has not displayed Muslim separateness, unlike elsewhere? It shows that Muslims has lost faith in the hollow cries of pseudo secularism and feel short-changed by the false promises of political parties that cry from the rooftop of a fair deal for the Muslims or that bogus and divisive whimper of the PM Manmohan Singh that the Muslims are the first ones entitled to the resources of the Nation or words to that effect. His plaintive bleat remained just that - a bleat not worth the inaudible sonic resonance. It is time not to divide society with sops and cosmetics. It is time to coalesce all into one identity - being Indians. It is time to apply our resources to uplift all sections of society without appearing to address any particular section. If the Muslims are more impoverished let them have the greater share of the pie, but it should not appear to be a sop. Let all the impoverished in India be given the share of the pie as deserved by them. Already the divide is blurring and what could be more of an indication than the dialogue between Modi and Sajjad Lone, where the yawning gap in ideologies has not made it impossible for a jaw jaw and come back with positiveness in the air.
