You already know what we all think ;) jokes apart, this is the real face of Thekedars of Secularism in India..... Secularism in India literally means appeasement of Muslims (also Christians) and a Hindu Nationalist is not a Secular.....

I like this lady's name - seems to be living up up to it. All power to such administrators who battle sand and/or secular mafia.

She is lucky that she didn't got killed yet...in these badlands, such honest folks are not tolerated for long.

Anyway, if the entire babu-dum gets behind her in a vocal manner, there is nothing that these goons (UP govt.) would be able to do. However, that has never ever happened here & those who beg to differ are either sidelined or.........................
(if they resist too much or try to act smart).

UP is a doomed state, on the lines of WB (close competition).

Why do I feel that all the regional parties from UP & Bihar follow a vote bank policy for Muslim votes ?

It is the same all over India wherever there is a substantial Muslim population. UP & Bihar have around 18% Muslim (officially). One can guess the real %.

You have a one track mind if you think this was done because of appeasement. Or maybe not which means you have a communal agenda :troll:

She did the right thing, SC has said no constructions on public property and she was doing her duty.

Politicians will as usual get all the abuse while the bureaucrats get away while being equally corrupt if not more.

It does seem like the young lady was suspended for her honesty.

    1) An illegal religious structure was being constructed by encroaching on govt land which Ms Nagpal asked to be either dismantled or the structure go through the process of seeking permission from authorities and then proceed. The villagers dismantled the structure on their own.

    2) A sand mining mafia boss who is also a senior leader in SP added the religious angle to confuse the matter.

All power to the lady !

IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal suspended for a demolition that never was

LUCKNOW: IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, who took on the powerful sand mafia in Noida, was hurriedly suspended for demolishing the wall of a religious structure, which was dubbed a rash act that could have led to riots. But the 28-year-old sub-divisional magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar never demolished the wall of any religious structure, according to reports the DM has submitted to the UP government.

The report says Nagpal was asked to visit Kadalpur village, where illegal construction activities were being carried out on government land, and settle the matter amicably. The report suggests it was unclear what religious site it was, since the construction had only just begun. Nagpal and other officers were deputed to visit the village after the administration learnt of the encroachment. The residents of the village were then asked to either seek permission for the construction of a religious structure, as per the governing rules, or dismantle the illegally constructed parts.

Kadalpur village residents chose to dismantle the illegal construction of their own volition. No JCB or other heavy machinery was ever pressed into service to demolish any wall, as the government has suggested. The report, with inputs from the district police as well as other administrative officers, also says there was no communal tension or the possibility of any clashes between religious communities.

What then forced the state government to make such haste in taking disciplinary action against a junior civil servant, even resorting to issuing suspension orders at 1.27 on Sunday morning?

Sources in the government said a senior Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha aspirant controls the bulk of the sand mining activities in GB Nagar. When several complaints of dredging from the Yamuna and Hindon rivers reached the chief minister's office in Lucknow, the GB Nagar district administration was asked to curtail the illegal activities. Nagpal, only three years into the IAS, followed the order in letter and spirit.

Disregarding political affiliations, she cracked down on the sand mafia, seizing trucks, slapping fines and lodging FIRs against errant persons. The Samajwadi Party's aspiring parliamentarian was among the aggrieved parties, his business hit by the crackdown. Sources said his repeated attempts to have Nagpal transferred failed, and when the Kadalpur issue came along, it served as an opportune moment to settle scores. The state government, unwilling to invite the ire of the minority community, not only said the villagers should be permitted to continue construction, it also suspended the officer for "inflaming communal tensions" and dismissed the episode as an "administrative exercise".

Now, despite chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's promise of a rethink on Nagpal's suspension, no decision has been taken. Speaking to TOI, principal secretary, UP's department of appointments, Rajiv Kumar, said, "As an officer of the UP government, Nagpal's reinstatement is in the hands of the state government, as the rightful disciplinary authority. As per the procedure, the government has up to 45 days in which to chargesheet her. In this case, the process may be expedited. It is the state government's decision."

^^ DM has said in his report that IAS Durga Shakti didn't demolish any wall, it was demolished by the people themselves, it hints that there is a conspiracy between the locals, Mafias, and ministers to kick out the honest officer from their way who brought down many Mafias in her term. It seems that the UP govt. was trying to find an opportunity to kick her out but failed, so they plotted such wall-demolishing incident.

Sand mafia kills one in Noida, SP leader mocks suspended IAS officer

New Delhi: Just days after the suspension of an Uttar Pradesh IAS officer known for taking on the sand mafia, a man was shot dead on Wednesday by alleged sand mafia in Noida in the state. The police say three motorcycle-borne men shot the man, Mangeram, dead in Sector 39, Noida.
Mangeram's family has filed an FIR and alleged that he was killed by the sand mafia as he was fighting the sand mafia in the area and had filed a complaint against them a few days back.
This came as the politics over the suspension of anti-sand mafia IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal took a new low on Wednesday. Even as suspended Durga Shakti Nagpal is to be served a chargesheet by the Uttar Pradesh government for allegedly mishandling a communally sensitive situation, senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan said that everyone has a right on the natural resources.

"Ram naam ki loot hai loot sako to loot (You are allowed to loot in the name of Hindu god Ram)," said Khan on Wednesday in Rampur while speaking on the suspension of Durga Shakti Nagpal.
Durga Shakti Nagpal, during her tenure as the sub-divisional magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, had cracked down on the sand mining mafia. She had recently seized 24 lorries involved in illegal mining and form April to June, under her watchful eye, the mining department impounded 297 vehicles and collected a fine of over Rs 80 lakh.
But she was suddenly suspended with the state government claiming that she had mishandled a communally sensitive situation in the district. The state administration says the process of chargesheeting the officer will be as per law. The chargesheet is not the same as the police file after an FIR as she has no case against her; it is simply an administrative procedure.
According to the Uttar Pradesh government, it is only after she is served a chargesheet, can Durga Shakti Nagal give an official explanation of her actions. The UP government further claimed that any decision on the IAS officer's future will be taken only after receiving her response.
Even the IAS association claimed she is being punished for taking on the sand mining mafia. All India IAS Association Secretary Sanjay Bhoos Reddy has demanded that SDM Durga Shakti Nagpal's suspension be revoked as such action will demoralise other officers. Speaking on a chargesheet to be filed against Durga, he said, "The government can review at any stage to revoke the order, no need to go through the chargesheet route."

SP leaders are trying to give religious colour to the incident because their senior leader is a sand mafia don.
