Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan faced an embarrassing situation at the airport here today when he was asked to leave the VIP lounge.

The 42-year-old actor, who was in the city for the shooting of Tigmanshu Dhulia's upcoming directorial Bullet Raja, was on his way to Delhi when he reached the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport and entered the VIP lounge, airport sources said.

An attendant informed Saif that only those who figured in a list authorised by the government could utilise the VIP lounge, and hence he should leave the place, they said.

Saif had a talk with airport staff following which he left the lounge and boarded his flight to Delhi, sources said.

The administration as well as the airport security officials denied that there was any tiff between the actor and the staff.

The attendant did a good job , he could have asked for bribe & let Saif ali khan to stay in VIP lounge but the guy did his duty . People should not make bigger hush or fuss about this issue ,Since lot of public attention for this kind of petty issue will encourage the actor to do a movie called Once upon a time in Lucknow Airport

We have bigger problem than this which has to be discussed and sorted out , instead of thinking about the Nawab who is a Animal Poacher

I really find India incredible and that too without the Govt Tourism ad informing me so!

Imagine a punk thinks he is a VIP!!

Raja Bhaiyya will also demand the same. He is a Raja after all! His criminal charges are nothing for after all he is forgiven since he is a Thakursaheb!

    And so would Mr Raja.

His name should be adequate even if he is a jailbird!

Is Saif Ali Khan that poor that he does not have a Platinum Credit Card that gives him free access to Executive Lounge and the sandwich/ buffet they give gratis?

Or is he, in his own bloated imagination, think he is too great and so he spurns the luxury of an Executive Lounge and free sandwich and instead prefers to be a VIP in a VIP Lounge?

    Damned overgrown childish punks!

No, iam pointing out commitment of indian govt in 1947. UK govt still gives privileges to Indian nawabs and kings when they visit london, where as Indian govt seems to forget promise made in 1947

They milked their fiefdom dry.... while the people remained poor and superstitious... they saw to it that the people remained subservient and illiterate.. much like what zamindars are still doing in parts of India.
No harm if India did a u-turn to keep what legitimately belongs to the nation!!

I don't think they were promised with free access to VIP lounge at all airports ever to be constructed in India.

Such titles were abolished a long time ago, alongwith privileges.

I did not know he still gets a 21 gun salute in UK.

Though off topic, I am reminded of a anecdote that Madhavrao Scindia once narrated in a radio interview. While studying in UK, he had gone to drop somebody home after a late night party. While returning, he was stopped by a traffic cop who wanted to see his licence. He did not have it one him. So, the cop wanted to take him to the precinct. The Scindia, in a bid to impress the cop said, he was the Maharaja of Gwalior. Snap, came the reply... If you are a Maharaja, I am the Shah of Iran. So you better follow me. The Maharaja had to spend the night in detention.
