You could be referring to Canada or Australia, although admittedly some Japanese bombs did fall on the latter (without serious and widespread damage to that country though). But one might ask, why did Canada and Australia not achieve as much as the USA?
Too few Canadians and Australians! :truestory:

Well, Russians do have a world class education system. The USSR mindset encouraged education especially science and engineering to the next level. That was the only good thing the Commies managed to do.

It's like Cuba having a World class health care. But national success do not depend on this state directed singular success stories...

This is one of the reasons, yes. But why is it that these countries attracted less immigrants at the turn of the 20th century that America?
Uhh, cause only maybe 10% of both the countries is habitable? Vast parts of Australia are a desert and the majority of Canada is a frozen tundra with winter temperatures even in the settled parts falling to -30 deg C in winter.

In comparison, almost the entire continental US is habitable.

Then why is it now that Canada and Australia are attracting hoards of immigrants from around the World?

"hoards"? Canada admits ~250,000 immigrants every year, and Australia about the same. That is less than 1% of Canada's population. You need to define the word "hoards".

Even your quoted numbers are a lot. And those are just the legal immigrants. Note that immigrants multiply more over time.

Not really. Those numbers are way below the numbers required to stop Canada's population from shrinking over time. All they're doing is reducing the rate of the decline.

The entire population multiplies (or in the case of most western countries, divides) over time. Including the immigrants, as they adopt western lifestyles.

Anyway, we are deviating from the topic.

Thank you.
 So you're wrong really, Canada and pretty much every country in the world, whether western or eastern is attracting "Giga" immigrants every year, not "hordes" of them. :p

Is that all? How in the first place did it come to a point that the Americans can just print the US dollar for the World? Ah I forgot, the World was held at gun point by American cowboys...
How many wars did canada and australia wage on the 'rogue' countries like USA?

USA of the yester years improvised from the mistakes of UK. Instead of occupying the countries like UK, it went in and fought wars with several countries which doesn't favor US. If it succeeds, it will control the country. Else, it will use CIA covert ops to change unfavorable regimes and make them puppets. Once the number becomes significant, getting dollar to be a reserve currency is no big deal. Also, having a huge war industry that it can control at will does matter a lot. When the major world wars happened, US did sell a lot of supplies and didn't participate in the war until it was bombed. Enter the war at the final stage, flash a couple of nuclear bombs and the rest of the world falls in line. Countries also fall in line.. not just people. By that time, every other country got it's resources exhausted.

USA of today is not that smart. With the fall of USSR, the seeds of the fall of US are sown. If not today, it will happen shortly. It can be postponed a little while but can't be avoided. By the way, look at the trend of Australian dollar. It gained a lot of value in the recent times.

Only proves that Americans themselves, the ones who were/are born in the US were/are not so good at things as they would like to think they are. Basically what you are saying loosely translates to, America has outsourced all its duties of excelling in various fields to -- Immigrants. Which is correct, which was my point, in the first place.
Fully agreed. Majority of them were first generation inmigrants who were formed and received education in their home countries. While in contrast, very few of them were born in US and received American education, so in conclusion, their system is not so succesfull, just relies on foreigners which are atracted by better conditions.

If Russians are so educated, why have they put their country to where it is now? Reduced civil liberties, energy export based unefficent non competitive economy, huge corruption. They are shooting their own leg on purpose? Why they always fail?
