Just see what Russians are doing specially in last 6 months.

First denied a certain invasion of Syria and then annexed Crimea and now in the process of dividing Ukraine and annexing East Ukraine.

well people are going to far, mi35 just in negotiation and not signed . Pakis friendship with russia doesn't matter more cause we are now have a co production friendship rather than merely a buyer seller friendship

russia is making dollars and actually pakis budget is 7 billion and this deal will take huge part of their budget .

none care about pakis except china and this deal will make their indigenous defence industry more and more paralysed

nor they have any knowledge to use russian stuff and many report says russia want to sell mi 25 , as far I know this won't gonna make any difference.

If this deal will happen then it's a clear indicative for India to focus on Indigenization of weapon industry and get away from Russian arms. I think it's high time we stop importing weapons from foreign nations as in today geopolitics nothing is stable.

Russia will lose a lot by this deal and force India to reconsider it ties with Washington.

This is no surprise after India, under the MMS government, bent over backwards to pick the Chinook over the Mil-26T2 as a heavy lift helicopter. How the Chinook fits the bill, no one knows. It does not even meet the payload requirements. That certainly indicates that India favoured the US, over Russia, not on merit, but due to political reasons.

India was, however, right in picking AH-64D over Mi-28N.

While you are right theoretically (payload etc.), IAF or for that matter any users of Mi-26 was not really at ease with it since its induction. Things only got worse with time, especially due to lack of standard spares, low serviceability & even lower availability. It was a known maintenance nightmare. Chinook is battle-hardy proven platform & a welcome respite for IAF technicians/airmen.

Nonetheless, the sky-crane would be would missed in very demanding scenarios.

West will never buy Ukrain junk.OR atleast pak will not sign any new deals with ukrain till winter sets in.

Yes India has to keep a watch on this as it is potentially a serious breakthrough for Pakistan - although it's now no longer the USSR and so it wont be cheap. The days of getting USSR weapons with strategic cold war discounts and freebies like USSR naval blockade during 1971 - well those days are long since gone and today with Russia rather than its predecessor, Pakistan will have to pay economic rates as India has learned too.

Well i don't want to rain on their parade so it is a significant breakthrough for them

The only blessing in a heavy disguise is IF the Modi government will speed up Indigenous
military manufacture and bearing in mind that we have to start from where we are and not make-believe .

So it might be a hard haul especially at this stage, but it cant be avoided, so the sooner we start, the better.

I dont think that will Change Indian ties with Russia, India dont want to be dependent on USA for that it cant afford to show its repercussions against Russia. If india does then this will be the least Pakistan will be expecting from them and it will be good for Pakistan.

From the times article something i would like to point out.

India has been upset with Russia's propensity to not stick to delivery schedules, jack up costs mid-way through execution of contracts, create hurdles in transfer of technology and be unreliable about spares.

The long-delayed delivery of aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya (Admiral Gorshkov) as well as the huge jump in its refit cost to $2.33 billion is just one of the examples. But Russia will remain India's major military supplier for the foreseeable future.

Good , now pakistan will face delays and I wonder how will they manage with cost overruns when they have so much little defence budget . The cost of this deal is 5 billion now , it will cost more after some time and later while time of getting spair part for repair , it will cost even more .
