NEW DELHI: A row has erupted over government's plan to create "composite townships" for displaced Kashmiri pandits in Kashmir valley. Government's move has been met with strong opposition from several parties and separatists in the state. While National Conference said the move will be dangerous for integrity of state and country, separatist leader Yasin Malik said a separate colony on the basis of religion will only build walls of hate, like in Israel.

J&K chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during his meeting with Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Monday had assured that the state government will acquire and provide land at the earliest for composite townships for displaced Kashmiri pandit migrants in the valley. National Conference leader Ali Mohd Sagar slammed the state government for the move calling it 'dangerous for the country'. "People in India talk of composite culture; composite culture means that people with different faiths can live together," Yasin Malik said threatening to launch an agitation against the government's proposed move.

"Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits live happily here. What fire are the CM and the RSS are playing with by saying they will build separate colony for Kashmiri pandits," Yasin Malik asked. However, PDP leader Naeem Akhtar defended the plan and said, "Government is bound to bring back Kashmiri pandits who are a part of our life with honour and dignity." At present, there are about 62,000 registered Kashmiri migrant families in the country, who have moved from the valley to Jammu, Delhi and other parts of the country after the state was rocked by militancy in 1989.

It's high time we have Kashmiri Hindu settlements in the Valley....enough of secularism, islamism and islamic victimhood, whole valley had transformed almost islamic shythole since Hindus were thrown out.....we need fortified settlements in the valley and around supported by large scale wave of immigrants from UP and Bihar to support Kashmiri Hindus in their well being and professional activities (370 scrapped eventually)!! We can't have such a large scale islamic ghetto existing in India!! Kashmiri Hindu settlements will have a balancing impact and equilibrium into the valley, as the valley and the surrounding areas will no longer remain completely islamic and wolrd will not view valley as exclusively ismaic in nature! Add eventual Ghar wapsi.....kashmir problem solved! ;)

Excellent Idea. Now we have to go about spreading this idea as the only workable solution to Kashmir problem

So? We live in the first past the poll voting system. A vote share of 40% is enough to get 450MPs in the general election. Hindus consititute 75% of the country. So convincing 60% of them would be enough:thumb:

Not only KPs, people from Bihar and UP must be encouraged to settle in Kashmir.

    it really is about time

we should start with a series of many military garrison townships with good schools and
    technical colleges, university ( eventually ) ...
we need a whole series of towns to gather economies of scale and to make it economically
and socially viable - eg hospitals and technical colleges will not be feasible if the populations are too small

the military aspect will remind those nice jihadi
friends who forced the pundits out in the first place not to try the same tricks again.

?????? isn't that the best way to kill the project even before it starts ?
although i would agree that folks from other states as well could be included,

so it should be people from all over india
