^^ I would not call this wahabbi extremism. This is an example of a despotic ruling class.
You are correct. It does not reflect the title. I just wanted to keep all KSA despotism, and that of regimes or movements supported by KSA in one place, which I mentioned in the OP. Perhaps we can find a better or more generic title?

Pakistan cricket team and a lot of their media personalities are influenced by the Tablighi, a lot of pyt's of Pak media have left their jobs and taken to preaching Islam.
That explains the bearded cricketers of Pakistan

Forget KSA or even the Gulf. They are just the producers/exporters of the Wahhabi idealogy and they are not consumers. The consumers are closer home. And they are the real nuisance/danger. The lack of protests in the Gulf regarding the video and the absolute opposite in South Asia with murder and mayhem must have told people something..

While rise of Wahhabi and Salafi extremism is a matter of concern, there is still hope. Read on to find out why and how:

Islamists are being kicked out of Somalia. The West can learn from this

The way in which this has been achieved is interesting. In effect, Somalia has served as the test bed for a new model of intervention. Instead of Western troops doing the fighting as in Iraq and Afghanistan, all the combat operations have been carried out by soldiers from the African Union, drawn principally from the armies of Kenya, Uganda and Burundi. The West has provided the funding, logistical and intelligence support; the African soldiers have taken on al-Shabaab and beaten them time and again. The capture of Kismayo is further proof that this model works.

^^ Not true. Al-shabab doesn't want to fight nor has it ever fought against a strong opponent. They will disappear into the countryside, wait for foreign armies to tire/retreat and then re-establish their hold.

So, when the Wahhabi philosophy doesn't attract enough zealots, the Saudis always find ways to use criminals to their own end. I see that the Saudis have learnt well from the French!

So, this is called "holy" Jihad, fought on the shoulders of convicted criminals!

Saudis Sending Death Row Prisoners To Fight With Rebels In Syria

By: DSWright Friday September 13, 2013 10:51 am

What is the role of Saudi Arabia in this proposal for a US military strike on Syria? It is not a question you will see asked much in the American media, but you should. Internationally there has been some coverage of the Saudi role, particularly the oceans of cash they've been lavishing on jihadist rebels for over a year. Rich Saudis like (now deceased) Osama Bin Laden and Saudi Intel Chief Prince Bandar are traditionally the biggest backers of radical Islamist groups in the world. President Assad continually noted in his interview with Charlie Rose that the Saudis were pouring their petro-dollars into Wahhabist Al-Qaeda linked rebels in Syria.

And now it is reported that the Saudi Arabian government is granting amnesty to death row inmates in exchange for them going to Syria to wage jihad.

Well, it seems some Saudi bureaucrats looked at the stalemate in Syria and came up with a way to think outside the box—and by "box" I mean "death row cell." According to a story filed by A.I.N.A., an Iraqi Assyrian PR agency, the Saudi Ministry of Interior came up with a brand-new plague to inflict on Syria in 2012: "Let's fly a bunch of death-row inmates over there and give them automatic weapons!" Seriously. Here's the memo:

"¦we are in dialogue with the accused criminals who have been convicted with smuggling drugs, murder, rape, from the following nationalities: 110 Yemenis, 21 Palestinians, 212 Saudis, 96 Sudanese, 254 Syrians, 82 Jordanians, 68 Somalis, 32 Afghanis, 94 Egyptians, 203 Pakistanis, 23 Iraqis, and 44 Kuwaitis.

We have reached an agreement with them that they will be exempted from the death sentence and given a monthly salary to their families and loved ones, who will be prevented from traveling outside Saudi Arabia in return for rehabilitation of the accused and their training in order to send them to Jihad in Syria.

Please accept my greetings.

Abdullah bin Ali al-Rmezan
Not only are the Saudis dumping cash into the conflict that goes to Al Qaeda-linked terrorists and lobbying America to strike against our own interests, they are freeing rapists and killers to go wild in the countryside. One can only imagine the kind of humanity these convicted fighters will show once they arrive on the battlefield. Then again could the opposition in Syria get anymore brutal?

It seems well past time for the American press to start covering Saudi Arabia's role in the drive to war – their interests and motivations.

Islam has coexisted with other religions for a long time.

It is just that the Wahhabis have taken a grip of the imagination of the Muslim that has caused this paradigm shift and create all the avoidable tensions.

Any Born Again Movement, in any religion, is dangerous and upsets the tranquillity of the global society.
