because no support from pvt sector or govt ,

and why would they coca cola and pepsi not gonna support your desi sport ,
not even when indian themselves not gonna support it ,

there are hardly 6 - 7 countries who plays regular cricket , for rest 6 - 7 countries its just time pass sport and indians think thats "world" cup .

because cricket creates JOBs. DLF has earned billion out of cricket bhai .. yeh dhanda hai. But those billions did not reach people.

That's why i say, India needs to change the pay policy. Make it not day wise but hourely. Then people will get the correct amount.

If we concentrate on Badminton, Shooting and wrestling alone there are atleat 20 - 30 ~ medals to be won.

because indians do not give importance to olympics ,
those sports do not charge them and all the news media and sports channel espn and star sports aggressively broadcast cricket not just new but also vintage matches and they even got special channels for cricket ,

most of the other sports only gets broadcast during sports events like olympic which happens twice between whole decade ,
how it gonna be interesting for people ,

but football could get same importance as cricket ,
football is not a desi sport but atleast it would be real world cup ,
it would be useful to push indians away from cricket .

Credit should also go to Gopi, he and his institute created two world champions so far.

So Haryana for wrestling, Hyderabad for badminton...

On a side note: Naidu gave the land for Gopichand academy free of cost in prime real estate in Cyberabad. irrespective of govt support, a sports visionary is required for winning medals.

Venkata pati Raju also got large land for cricket academy outside Hyderabad , but I don't think any of his players got into national team.

Sania Mirza also got tennis academy in Hyderabad.

I guess there is a Bronze now.

So my guess went better and she is playing for GOLD now and even is she lose she gets SILVER.

Just saw her game partially and she totally annihilated Japanese in the second set by 20-10.

She is 5' 10"+ and her opponent was 5' 1" only. The reach difference was clearly visible in the match.

Journey for Gold is not easy next is world no 1 and she is in excellent form. It will be difficult... But I guess Gold in Olympic is never easy.

But that figure could change if Prime Minister Narendra Modi can make Ease of Winning Medals just as important as his Ease of Doing Business push.

All that is needed is an investment of Rs 48 crore for one medal, according to Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra.

"Each medal costs the UK £5.5 million. That's the sort of investment needed. Let's not expect much until we put systems in place at home," he tweeted after Malik's spectacular show.

This means if we want to match toe-to-toe with China, which had 88 medals in London 2012 compared to India's best tally of 6, it needs to pump in Rs 4,224 crore in the coming years.

Even if the country wants to grab its biggest haul of medals (of 7) at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020, it needs to invest Rs 336 crore over the next four years.
