because cricket is like a slow burning cigarette or bidi. The old tradition in India of chaupal hukka is substituted by cricket. That's why people watch it. Because it keeps them busy in discussions similar to politics.

Actually this game is not for youngsters who are full of energy. But then people have made it a business and part of life like 502 pataka bidi or chai .. or koi kaam nahi.

so colonial mindset indians should learn something from usa ,

because they just rejected colonial mindset and culture even if they took a lot of things from other cultures they turned it into theirs for example english language but it also got americans own US english version along with uk english version ,

and thats how usa became not just military but also cultural superpower ,

usa did not just came up with their own sport of baseball but it was exported to japan , australia , new zealand , south korea and even china .

and why would they coca cola and pepsi not gonna support your desi sport ,
not even when indian themselves not gonna support it ,

there are hardly 6 - 7 countries who plays regular cricket , for rest 6 - 7 countries its just time pass sport and indians think thats "world" cup .
