Red tape and non-information about Armed Forces recruitment

Hi ,

Sorry if this subject has been raised before. I am sick and tired of Government websites. In the age when China and USA war against their rivals in cyberspace, Indian Armed Forces have useless defunct websites which are of no help to a human belonging to 21st century.

When I was below 25 years old I had access to internet and Yahoo and searched for any and all information to enlist in Short Service Commission but failed to find a single useful reliable piece of information.

I am now 34 years old and see posts and news about recruitment in Reserve Army (Territorial Army) and fail to find a single link or phone number or postal address or email address where I can send my resume or beg to send my resume.

I don't need this shit. I qualify for Resident Visa of Canada and other developed nations. Yet my patriotism is spit upon by Indian Government websites and listed landline phone numbers.

I hope this forum has some answers regarding any one human or one department where I can just send my bio-data and expect that they find me useful enough to respond to my query.

1. Qualifications: M.Phil, MA Psychology, M.Com Management, B.Com, Microsoft Certified Professional, 2nd dan Karate
2. Experience: 6 years with Reliance, 2 years with Capgemini, a year with Blue Star Infotech and Accenture. Running own epublishing company since 2008 till now
3. Lifetime Member of Indian Association for Occupational Health, and Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists
4. Wish to be a member of Territorial Army
5. No disabilities. 20:20 vision. Athletic body, height 175 cm, weight 82 kilos
6. Just someone tell me one simple way or TEN SIMPLE STEPS to being noticed by Territorial Army of India.

7. Alternatively, I would like to be in a Foreign Legion of Britain or any Commonwealth Developed Nation if you know the procedure.

So recruitment is once a year ? Why am I not surprised. If it was run like a corporation then there would be talented people there and less corruption in defence deals.

Even IGNOU now has admission twice a year. Private Institutes train students in IT throughout the year with admissions every month.

I guess I will stick to my MNC job instead of dreaming of adventure with these pencil pushers.

Dude AFAIK there are selection to TA twice a year.The next notification will come in the month of october or november.I am pretty sure coz last the last date for application to TA was on january 3or 4 something like that.

It has been quite a few months now

1. No reply to my emails at the given email contacts
2. No reply to snail postal mail sent with Self Addressed Stamp Envelope to them
3. Phone numbers are either of unused telephones or otherwise unattended

Does anyone have a link or news on the second phase of TA recruitment. Any advertisements noticed by anyone?

How to Join Territorial Army of India

The Territorial Army (TA) provide excellent opportunities for employed young men to join the Indian army and earn the glorious uniform. What is Territorial Army India?

Who is eligible for Territorial Army India?

Only male citizens of India and Ex-service officers who are medically fit.
Age – 18 to 42 years. :cool2:
Qualification – Graduate from any recognized university.
Employment - Gainfully Employed in Central Govt/Semi Govt /Pvt Firm/ Own business/Self Employed.

(Note : Serving Employees of Police/Paramilitary Forces are not eligible.)

You must be well settled and employed in any of the profession mentioned above. Territorial Army is not for just passed out candidates or someone who has just 2-3 years of working experience. To make sure you clear the Territorial Army Exams, it is better you get well settled in your current profession first. Also if you have missed out regular entries due to age factor, it doesn't mean you are perfect for Territorial Army now, you need to fulfil all eligibility requirements first and being gainfully employed will help you to get shortlisted for next round.
Terms and Conditions of Territorial Army

Like regular entries, TA grants you a commissioned rank of Lieutenant.
Pay and Allowances and privileges will be same as regular Army Officers when embodied for training and military service.
Promotions up to Lt Col by time scale subject to fulfilling laid down criteria. Promotion to Colonel and Brigadier by selection.
Officers commissioned in TA Infantry may be called out for military service for longer duration depending on requirement.

Training Details of Territorial Army

One month basic training in the first year of commission.
Two months annual training camp every year including the first year.
Three months Post Commissioning training within first two years at IMA Dehradun

The officer and men of the Territorial Army have been decorated for their gallantry and distinguished services. So for they have earned 02 Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), 15 VSM, 05 Vir Chakra, 13 Sena Medal, 25 Mentioned-in-Despatches and 43 COAS commendation card.

What is the selection procedure of Territorial Army

For Civilian Candidates:
Candidates whose applications forms are found, correct after scrutinisation will be called for screening, by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB), at their respective TA Group Headquarters. Candidates selected by PIB should provide brief BIO-DATA to include details about their employment with monthly income from all sources at the time of documentation immediately after PIB. Successful candidates will further undergo a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection

Test Syllabus:
(a) Short Essay
(b) Objective type question on General Awareness Includes Issues related to Political/Economical affairs, International Situation and Sports.


For Ex Service Officers Only:
Ex Service Officers of three services as a candidate should send their application alongwith enclosures as mentioned in application form to Addl Directorate General TA, Integrated HQ of MoD (Army), 'L' Block, New Delhi-01.
The candidates are screened by an Army HQ Selection Board (ASB) held at Addl Dte Gen TA Army HQ, 'L' Block, New Delhi which is followed by a Medical Board for successful candidates

That is a great brochure but entirely useless.

The links mentioned for the contact and download form are defunct since time immemorial.

None of the websites have any information on TA Admissions or Contacts.
