President Vladimir Putin's spokesman on Wednesday ridiculed US media reports that the Russian strongman may be suffering from cancer, saying he was fine and that journalists should "shut their trap".

Dmitry Peskov blasted those behind speculation that the 62-year-old Putin -- who has long cultivated an action-man image -- was in ill health.

"They shouldn't bank on it. They should shut their trap. Everything's okay," he told journalists at Putin's country residence outside Moscow.

The New York Post on Friday cited "sources" as saying Putin was suffering from pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest forms of the disease.

MOSCOW, October 29 (RIA Novosti) – Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Wednesday denied western reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin is allegedly suffering from pancreatic cancer.

"Bite your tongue! Everything's fine," Peskov said in response to Putin's supposed illness.

Last week, The New York Post published a story, in which it claimed the Russian president was suffering from cancer and was being treated by an elderly doctor, citing unnamed sources.

The rumors quickly spread and appeared in various western news outlets however none of the stories were able to substantiate the story with direct evidence.

Poles: We can sleep now the devil is on the departure.

USA: Yeah we are getting free hand for global dominance.

EU wussies: No more gas shortage nightmare

Belarus: We are losing a strategic partner. Lukashenko shitting in his pants.

Cuba: hell even Castro survived this

Many news articles have the theme of "Putin needs to hurry to take over Ukraine."

My cousin died of cancer of the pancreas. Would not wish it on anyone.

Rumours are part of the war effort by the West. It shows Putin has really started up messing with the brains of some key people. Good.

More evidence Russia is winning in Ukraine.

If Putin has cancer as rumoured, then it will have an effect on his decisions.

It might spur him to be more proactive to ensure Russia's regaining its own status so that his name is etched favourably in Russian history.

That would surely make the world more dangerous and problematic for the West to ensure an even keel in world status quo.
