This whole thread makes us look silly. It must be deleted at once.

India commenting on the darker side of the west is like a penniless man commenting on a rich man's rolls royce because it has scratches. And please dont say they also interfere, bla bla. Yeah, they interfere because they have reached a certain level of development in all areas - socially, economically, culturally, politically, etc. Also in terms of human rights, democracy, secularism, and so on.

So having accomplished all that, they are now in a position to lecture others, however annoying that may be. But if we do the same without first accomplishing something of note, we're only going to be laughed at. That's why Udwin is a super star whereas our sardar (who made the documentary on UK) is a nonentity.
Seems like it is hurting you because this thread talks about something which is a part of your "proud" family tradition which sanctions rape and incest and you wish to continue with it because of your religious compulsions. Don't talk on behalf of west, talk for yourself.

Who are you to judge who is a non-entity and who is not?

Very sage advise, but I don't see you dispensing the same advise to sundry Muslim nations/interest groups. By your logic, they shouldn't even open their mouth, they aren't fit even to fart in protest, let alone speak out.

India is a different nation today, than it was 2 decades ago. So, we're beginning to pay the Britshits back in their same coin. This process will continue, and as we become a $4 trillion economy in 6-7 years, growing constantly when compared to the stagnant Britshits - this will only increase. As we acquire more companies like Tetley, Jaguar-Land Rover, etc. we will continue to stamp our influence. Not a bad time to begin. As of now this is limited to online forums, Twitter, etc. Soon it will spread in mainstream discourse also. But we have to begin somewhere.

If Pakistanis comment on women's rights in India, is anyone going to take it seriously? Of course not. We're like Pakistan to Britain, aren't we? That's why people are mocking us instead of taking us seriously. That's why the sardar's documentary has been ignored (except by internet Hindus), whereas Udwin has become a superstar overnight.

No matter how much we try, we are going to be perceived as a poor, weak, hapless nation at least for the next 25 years.

:suicide:
Pretending otherwise only makes us look silly.
I know this is a flame bait, however I would like to point out a thing.
Udwin has not become a superstar overnight. If you read at the comments of the international news dailies, you will find that she is being criticized by the foreign readers.

And Udwin has become a "superstar" only in the eyes of internet Hindus (albeit in a negative sense).

And its a stretch to say that we are "like Pakistan to Britain". Our GDP (nominal) is 66% of UK, and our GDP (PPP) is much greater than Britain. Our Dollar reserves are nearly twice those of the UK (Sterling Pound is by no means an international currency for oil etc., bear that in mind). Tata is Britain's largest employer. Our companies were on a takeover spree in Britain before the recession struck. RIL was poised to take over even BP! Those glory days are coming back now, and this is no joke.

So, you have to understand where we stand, really. You have no idea.

Yeah, mostly by internet hindus, lol.

Anyway, ask yourself this. Do you honestly feel safe in India? Or do you feel safe in the UK? I've lived in Australia and despite its reputation as a racist country, I've felt more at home there than over here. India is not a civilized nation - people are boorish and loud. Contrast this with how westerners behave. These are facts, unfortunately, and no amount of patriotism can change that. We have a long way to go when it comes to decent, cultured behavior. In fact, this is true of most third world nations, not just India - people in the third world are animal-like in their attitude and behavior. Even basic courtesy is missing, even among educated middle-class Indians.

In this context, it is sheer insanity to even imagine that we're in a position to 'critique' the various social ills in western societies. Please stop this nonsense. It hurts.
7th generation inbreds like you should not teach about animal behaviour. Even animals avoid inbreeding.

Cardinal steps down over sexual impropriety allegations — a first since 1927 - The Washington Post

The Vatican announced Friday that a Scottish cardinal accused of sexual misconduct will lose all the rights and privileges of that high office – the first time a cardinal has resigned since the 1920s.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien was Britain's senior Catholic cleric until he stepped down from his regular duties in 2013 after allegations surfaced that he had made sexual advances to a number of priests. But Friday, the Vatican announced that O'Brien would be a cardinal in name only, won't be allowed to participate in public religious events or have the privilege cardinals do, such as voting for pope. However, O'Brien will retain the title of cardinal.

German Sanctimonious Behavior despite Male superiority in Germany

A country where a female professor is fearful for her women students because an Indian male "hound" is going to be amongst them, apparently would be one where women are completely safe and justice available completely. Right? WRONG!! It now seems that the German situation in rape cases is abysmal. Here is an interesting look:

When a rape court in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia acquitted the alleged rapist of a 15-year-old girl in 2012, women's rights advocates were outraged.

The ruling found that saying no, or even screaming it, wasn't enough to merit rape charges.

Now findings from a new study indicate that case was hardly unique, despite aEuropean initiative to step up efforts to stop violence against women.

The number of German rape cases ending in convictions has plummeted from 22 percent to 8 percent over the past 20 years, according to a study released by the Hanover-based Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony.

From 22% to 8% conviction rate – that's an alarming drop. But even more alarming is how the German rulings now are siding with the rapists as opposed to the victim! If one goes deeper into the German society, one finds that this IS indeed representative of the German male mindset. Not just that, justice is now a function of your wealth in Germany.

Consider the behavior of educated middle class Indian (or any third worlder). Usually, they are loud and uncouth, show no respect or even basic courtesy. Contrast this with the behavior of educated middle class in the first world. Can you imagine them talking and acting like our people? That's what I am talking about.
Your comment history is a gold mine for someone doing a research on idiots on the internet. You should be proud.

According to "you" things will always be bad and bleak about Indian middle class..or any class. even if the middle class is the ones that the catalyst of many social changes on positive scale.

What makes you think that being silent and having good manners make any change to society.. You should know that this is the reason why the Pakis were able to rape British teenagers and children on industrial scale..
:D
May be being loud and uncouthed is dangerous to your Rapist Paki counterparts..cuz they get beaten up :D

Being and categorically uncouth have it effects in democracy..

Rapes, sexual assault, drugs for favours in Australia's detention centre on Nauru: independent Moss review

An independent review into sexual abuse inside Australia's detention centre on Nauru has found evidence of rape, sexual assault of minors and guards trading marijuana for sexual favours from female detainees.

The review, conducted by former integrity commissioner Philip Moss, found no evidence that Save the Children staff on Nauru had coached detainees to embarrass the Abbott government.

Guys.
First world media are sensationalized and controlled to please their native people. They exploit simple or unimportant international stories to direct everything on their and make their citizens feel good. In India, the media is not controlled, it is sensationalized in a negative manner. I would suggest never to read western media news kindly because its dominantly written to please them except a very few.

By the way, neither first world, second world or third world media gave importance to sensitizing anything. They are all selling stories.

Cumbria policeman denies hotel room rape charge

A police detective raped a woman in a hotel room while he was attending a conference about seizing the proceeds of crime, a court has heard.

Nicholas Doherty, a detective constable, denies raping the alleged victim but admits having consensual sex with her in the early hours at a hotel in Warwickshire.

A jury at Warwick crown court was told that Doherty, a member of Cumbria police who lives in Barrow-in-Furness, was not traced until a year after the alleged attack.

The woman told police she had been raped and left with bruising at a hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon after meeting a man, who she did not know, in a pub.

Simon Phillips, prosecuting, told jurors she claimed to have gone to the hotel room with the man because she wanted a cup of tea rather than an alcoholic drink.

Phillips added that the alleged victim, who had been drinking wine but was not "out of control", recalled visiting a bathroom and sitting on a bed drinking tea. But the woman's next memory, the court heard, was being aware in the early hours that she was naked on the bed with the man lying on top of her.

The woman claims to have been restrained by her attacker as she was sexually assaulted, before he "let her go" after she pleaded for him to stop.

Phillips said that although the victim made a complaint a few days after the incident in March 2012, Doherty was not tracked down until 18 months later.

When he was interviewed in November 2013, the court heard, Doherty, 42, said his memory was poor due to the passage of time but he was able to remember having consensual sex with a woman at the relevant time.

Phillips said: "He suggested that when the sex ended, he just left the room. He accepted holding her wrists during sex and he accepted probably causing the injuries during consensual sex."
