Indian channels have started exposing Sardesai-Ghose reptile duo.

A step in the right direction. Some channels are growing the balls to talk about this skunk-shit and his bimbo wife for what they really are.

Wow, they just tore into them. Hopefully more channels will run this story.

Thanks man, can you please also edit the OP's first paragraph to tell that the first punch was thrown by Rajdeep and not the NRI?
I have added your quote to the OP, which now, is next to OP.

Sagarika Ghose has written an article about Gujju NRIs. How can anyone be so daft and stereotype people is beyond belief though.

Times Of India | Blogs

At home and abroad, Gujarat has never loomed larger

Long before the PM's NRI-fest in America, there was the global Gujarati. From Uganda to the US, the non-resident Gujarati has been criss-crossing the globe more regularly than perhaps Superman on an urgent mission. Those of us acquainted with American Born Confused Desis, emigrated From Gujarat, House In Jersey, (ABCDEFGHIJ), also know that the Gujarati may have been globalised for two centuries yet has always clung tenaciously to his civilisational roots.

From managing grocery stores in Leicester to running motels in Los Angeles (or 'Potels' as they were famously known), the Gujarati — along with Punjabis — are India's first globalised community, driven by an incorrigible spirit of 'dhando' or business. As they once said of geeks, never make fun of a Gujju-bhai because one day he could be your boss!

In Jackson Heights, NY, sometimes referred to as little Gujarat, you can play garba during Navratra and get the best dhoklas and farsan. Disco dandia and Patel rap, "no-onion" pizza and sitaphal ice cream, the smooth Gujarati synthesis of East and West could well be a model for those anxious about loss of culture in globalising India.

Tony Blair and Bill Clinton may have once hot-footed it to Hyderabad, David Cameron may have set sail for Bangalore, but now with Xi Jinping and Madam Liyuan smilingly swinging on the banks of the Sabarmati, maybe it's time to say move over Bangalore and Hyderabad, Amdavad is now the sweet spot for global premiers.

It should come as no surprise that Narendra Modi packed in the crowds at Madison Square Garden. For the non-resident Gujarati, Modi is an icon: he speaks their language of Hindu nationalism while retaining his Gujarati pride. Long before the rest of India discovered him, the NRG had already discovered Modi magic. Only then it was over a video link since Modi wasn't given a US visa. Now, their hero is with them, not in 3D, but 'live'. For the rest of the world, Madison Square Garden may conjure up memories of boxing matches and rock concerts: for the NRG, Modi is their very own rock star.

The global Gujarati is steadfastly loyal to his kin: the Gujarati diaspora rushed to the rescue of his home state after the 2001 earthquake. The Palanpuri Jains may run a global diamond empire, yet remained closely bound by ties of family and community. Gujarati grannies are often seen crowding airports, off to push perambulators in Pittsburgh, to make sure that American-born grandchildren do not forget the joys of undhiu and thepla. For the Gujarati, modern mercantilism combines easily with traditional social mores.

Many of the first outbound NRG travellers were bania merchants from Kutch, discovering new horizons in Africa, while trading in spices and commodities. The most famous NRG was, of course, Mahatma Gandhi, who discovered his vocation in South Africa. Another proud Gujarati, Dhirubhai Ambani, travelled to Aden in search of his fortune.

In more recent times, America is the most preferred destination. Affluent and upwardly mobile, Gujaratis are a tad different from that other great other migrant community: the NRP (non-resident Punjabi). While a sardarji may cheerfully drive a cab in London or New York, the Gujarati prefers to sit behind the shop window, keeping services open even on a Sunday.

Long distance nationalism or internet nationalism dominates: a desire to retain one's Indianness even while thriving in another country. Modi has tapped into that desire like no previous leader and membership of Overseas Friends of the BJP has skyrocketed.

As they say with a distinct American twang in Jackson Heights, with Modi at the helm "all is fine" or "badhu saru che!"

That lying bitch! People from several Indian communities were there. Rajdeep was himself filmed asking each of them where they're originally from.

The rise of "Internet Hindus and "Internet nationalists" seems to have inconvenienced Ghose, Rajdeep Sardesai and their ilk.

Well, too bad. The increase in social media and citizen journalism is here to stay and increase.

You can't fool all the people all the time.

No wonder Brits could rule India in pre Internet era.

Re: Rajdeep Sardesai B1tchslapped in NY for Asking Stupid Questions to

In the morning, media had reported that Modi upset over attack on Rajdeep Sardesai
Modi's friend, billionaire Gautam Adani, called Sardesai and delivered a personal message from the prime minister, stating that Modi was upset over the incident.
Not sure why did that "Billionaire", "modi's friend" tag was needed?? Also when i saw this, i was upset as to why did modi even indirectly talk to rajdeep.

Now in the evening, it being reported that

Adani denies Modi message to Rajdeep: Why would PM discuss such a small issue?: Adani group chairman Gautam Adani has clarified that he was not speaking on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he had a conversation with journalist Rajdeep Sardesai about his fracas with alleged BJP supporters at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Adani told the Economic Times from Washington DC that he had "bumped into Sardesai at a restaurant in DC where I asked him about the incident and said no leader would support such behaviour. And Modi is no exception.

"I met Rajdeep at an Indian restaurant in DC last evening where we chatted for a few minutes. The topic of his manhandling came up where I told him that no leader will approve such kind of incident and Modi is no exception.

"Rajdeep told me about this incident in detail and said he regretted what had happened. He said the crowd had abused his son which had upset him greatly, " said Adani.

Adani was emphatic that the PM had had no conversation with him on the issue and neither was he asked to convey anything to Sardesai. "Why would the PM discuss such a small issue," said Adani.

Then this is proof that he started the fist-fight:

"Rajdeep told me about this incident in detail and said he regretted what had happened. He said the crowd had abused his son which had upset him greatly, " said Adani.

'Mai hi tha woh danger': Facebook brag from someone claiming to have hit Rajdeep Sardesai

There may be a new twist to the tale of the attack on the senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. According to a report on NewsLaundry , a man named Yogesh Tibrewal boasted on Facebook how he attacked Sardesai on the sly in the course of a scuffle. Senior journalist and consulting editor at India Today, Rajdeep Sardesai was allegedly manhandled by a mob of Modi supporters outside Madison Square Garden while PM Narendra Modi was giving a speech in inside.

The screenshot of his Facebook post with a picture of him next to Rajdeep Sardesai has been widely circulated on Twitter. The screen grab captures the following conversation between Tibrewal and his friends:

Ajith Doshi: Bhai isko maar padhi thi aaj... You were too close to the danger.
Yogesh Tibrewal: Mai hi tha woh danger!
Pravin Mukkawar: Maraa ki nahi... I hope achhe se dia hoga tumne usko.
Yogesh Tibrewal: Haa bey, usko malum bhi nahin pada.

According to Newslaundry, they have contacted Yogesh to know why he has deleted the Facebook account -- or rather renamed the profile as Vicks Jhujhnu -- but have not received a response. For now, it is unclear whether this was just an empty boast by Tibrewal or if he did actually attack the journalist.

The video footage of the incident has been widely circulated on YouTube and Twitter. While some YouTube clips showed Rajdeep getting attacked, another that showed Rajdeep calling a guy in a yellow kurta an asshole, which ultimately led to the fight.

Meanwhile Achint Sharma, the Deputy News Editor at the Dainik Bhaskar, had posted an eye-witness account on his Facebook saying that he had seen the crowd heckling Rajdeep who had been patient for quite some time.

Sharma wrote that after the speech was over, he was talking a walk down 7th Avenue in New York when he saw "Rajdeep Sardesai and a senior cameraperson in the middle of a mob trying to calm down a group of approximately 50 people around him. My first Reaction: Are these guys for real?"

He added, "Second reaction: To see if any other TV crew was there, none! I barge in, just to check if Rajdeep was alright. Yes, he was. Smiling, calm, and trying to reason out a crowd which wasn't prepared to listen to anything he said. Then the pushing and shoving begins. A barrage of abuses follow. Why? Probably because of Rajdeep's tweet about an influential person staying in the same hotel as Narendra Modi's."

According to Sharma's account, "Despite my repeated requests to stay away from Rajdeep, the mob continued to shout pro-Modi slogans right in front of his face to instigate him. A particular person wearing glasses, and once again in an orange attire, almost shoved his phone into the cameraman's lens to which Rajdeep protested."

He adds that while some people in the mob have release selective footage which shows Rajdeep attacking first, nobody has dared to release the full footage which shows the crowd heckling Rajdeep.

Sardesai, had tweeted after the incident, "Great crowd at Modison square garden! except a few idiots who still believe abuse is a way of proving their machismo!" He added, "Glad we caught the idiots on cam. Only way to shame the mob is to show them".

After the prime minister's speech, he tweeted: "Super speech by Modi; not so super behaviour by some bhakts. Guess some things won't change."

After the incident, Twitter saw a barrage of tweets and opinions. The hashtag, #IStandWithRajdeep and #RajdeepSlapped were the top trends.
Is cosy club of media still working on behalf of one of their own???

Re: Rajdeep Sardesai B1tchslapped in NY for Asking Stupid Questions to

Breaking - An NRI association sued Rajdeep for the "you have money but no class" statement. Rajdeep has been sued for $300 million in punitive damages for making a derogatory statement against an entire community. If Rajdeep left the US, then he will be asked to return. If he doesn't, then:
  • He will never get a visa to the US, unless to appear appear for trial
  • He could be served a red-corner notice for arrest
  • Any offshore bank-accounts could be frozen (because the penalty is financial)
  • Credit-cards by American issuers (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), may not work, even if sub-issued by Indian banks (eg: SBICard, ICICI, HDFC, you get the point).
