DON’T PROVOKE INDIA TO TAKE MILITARY ACTION, NAVY CHIEF TELLS CHINA
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 09, 2016 BY INDIANDEFENSE NEWS

Indian Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba has advised China not to trigger fresh tension in South Asia by sending warships to Arabian Sea.
by Koushik Das

Immediately after Beijing hinted that it would deploy warships and submarines at Pakistan’s Gwadar port to protect its trade and energy routes, Admiral Lanba said that India was confident of prevailing over the Asian giant. The Indian Navy chief said that although New Delhi had no plan to disrupt Beijing’s trade route, it would do so if China threatens India’s security. Admiral Lanba told the media earlier this week that India was closely monitoring movements of Chinese warships and submarines in the “strategic” Indian Ocean Region (IOR). He further advised China not to provoke India to take military action, saying that New Delhi would have to send warships to Arabian Sea, if China made such a move.
“We keep a close eye on Chinese warships and submarines, including nuclear ones, and constantly monitor their movements in the IOR. We have the capabilities, assets and plans in place to tackle any threat or challenge,” stressed Admiral Lanba. He informed China that India had no plan to turn the ongoing “competition” in the IOR into “a conflict”. At the same time, he said that Beijing should understand the fact that India could not lower its guard in its own strategic backyard. “The Indian Navy recognises the Chinese flag will go where the trade is,” added the Navy chief.
Meanwhile, Admiral Lanba admitted that India wanted a powerful three-dimensional blue-water Navy mainly to guard its huge strategic interests from Persian Gulf to Strait of Malacca and beyond. Otherwise, according to the Navy chief, it will be difficult for India to counter China’s deep inroads into the IOR. India is fully prepared to protect its daily transit of sea trade worth USD 2 billion and sprawling offshore assets, he said.
The South Asian country, which has 138 warships, including one aircraft carrier, 48 major warships and 14 submarines, and 235 aircraft and helicopters, plans to acquire 212 warships and 458 aircraft for its Navy by 2027. Admiral Lanba told the press that the Narendra Modi government recently allocated around USD 50 billion for constructing 36 warships, six conventional and two nuclear submarines. Currently, 40,000-tonne carrier ‘INS Vikrant’, seven ‘Shivalik’ follow-on stealth frigates, four Visakhapatnam-class missile destroyers, six Scorpene submarines and two nuclear submarines (SSBNs) are under construction.
As far as the proposed defence projects are concerned, India has decided to build six stealth conventional submarines with foreign collaboration. The initial groundwork for building 65,000-tonne indigenous aircraft carrier ‘INS Vishal’ is also in progress. New Delhi further plans to construct six nuclear attack submarines (SSNs) at Vizag and to purchase four Grigorovich-class frigates from Russia in the coming months to boost its naval strength.
“Even today, the Navy has over 40 warships, four submarines and 12 aircraft deployed in waters around the Indian peninsular and island territories. We are capable and ready to safeguard our national maritime interests anytime, anywhere, every time,” insisted Admiral Lanba. He claimed that it’s not difficult to track the movements of Chinese vessels lurking in the IOR. “Chinese submarines usually come on 90-day deployments to the IOR, with an Operational Turn-Around (OTR) at Karachi after 45 days or so. But they have to surface while crossing the Malacca, Sunda or Lombox Straits since the waters there are not deep enough,” explained the Indian Navy chief.
Beijing considers the Pakistani port as the gateway to the USD 46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Now it is only a matter of time that Pakistan makes a sudden announcement that they have developed indigenous nuclear submarine equipped with nukes (in reality donated by china). Then Indians will act surprised and start using it as an excuse why we can not attack Pakistan and must accept slow death till at some vulnerable moment in future Pakistan delivers a fatal blow, like Vajpayee government accepted excuse of fake Pakistani nukes to not escalate kargil.

Now is the time we execute plan to liberate Baluchistan on priority basis or permanently surrender to aggressive Pakistan with nuclear triad and accept slow death.

Indian navy must show this map(sea trade routes) to these dumb Chinkis ...... Indian navy can block 70% east Asian trade (route) at Lakshwadeep and A&N islands within hours ... Hope one day Indians wake up and bully China ships like Chinkis are doing to their small neighboring countries then they would understand. :bounce:

PS: Total blocking is only possible in war time. That is why Chinkis are planing Gwadar to China route.
It will be very interesting once US warship parks at our coast and we together will Fu**k china.

Actually china has done a lots of bullying in the time of Manmohan. This is a payback time. We must make make them feel that their bullying will work no more. They will have to come to reconciliation and respect the indian point of view and indian concern. You help pakistan just to cause concern for india, you will get that back with interest in south china sea region. Chinese pawn shall also be taken care properly.

First Step ....US,India and Asean will Fk China very badly.:biggrin2:

Indo-US Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA).

At a press conference with US Defence Secretary Ash Carter, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said the agreement will allow the Indian and US navies to have an easier time supporting each other in joint operations and exercises and when providing humanitarian assistance.

Washington's desire for deeper security cooperation with India had been complicated without the signing of the logistics agreement as well as two other pacts that would allow secure communications and the exchange of nautical and other data.

Without naming China, both leaders mentioned the importance of the free flow of trade to both countries.

"India and the United States have a shared interest in freedom of navigation and overflight and unimpeded commerce as part of rule-based order in (the) Indo-Pacific," Mr Parrikar said.

Read lines in between you clearly understand LEMOA is nothing but Contain China in Indian Ocean with the help of Indian Navy.

of-course not, but every option is open in War time!!

China is not going to be able to take on US fleet and Indian navy. Pakistan is a non factor . China is not a blue water navy and their naval capability is nothing more than bullying small neighbors in South China Sea. I can guarantee that with US pacific bases and seventh fleet China will not even make it past the Chinese shores. China is a hyped up third rate power which will soon be cut down to size. If you come in our backyard we will slaughter you.

It was always known that the CPEC was being built basically as a supply route for the Chinese Navy which is establishing a PLAN base there. Gwadar has been leased to the Chinks for 40 years which is extendable.

So we need to accept the fact that the Pak Navy and PLAN will, in the near future, be operating jointly in the Arabian Sea and dominate the Gulf of Hormuz as well as the IOR region in the Arabian Sea. This would pose a direct threat to the IN and USN and one of the reasons why the Americans have hastened the Logistics Exchange Memorandum with India.

Interestingly Arabian sea have shallow depth while Bay of Bangle is very deep. Go 40km into sea direction Karachi shore and you will find sea water still shallow. Now 2km into Bay of Bangle from shore is very very deep. It means SSNs can't operate or have trouble operating in Western sea as they are bigger than SSKs. India will field its SSNs in Eastern sea and operate SSKs in Arabian sea. If China sends even half of their low quality SSKs in Bay of Bengal, they will easily destroyed by couple of P-8i Neptunes and some sub-killer Corvettes. Pak will get its first SSN from China in 2028. In Arabian sea, we just have to do sea denial and it will be game over for Pak. Couple of Destroyers, Frigates and SSKs are enough. But Sea blockade is for China. So if India is able to build 2/3 homegrown SSNs before that, 2 will accompany INS Vikrant. Another two (includes Akula-2 Chakra) will accompany INS Vikramaditya. We will achieve sea blockade as most Chinese subs will be taken care by P-8i and NG hunter Corvettes.

regarding your ps , if they do too many incursions on our land , the we should do some limited blocking of their ships not only in the andaman area that you have stated but also in the arabian gulf / persian gulf areas PRIOR to their ships reaching gwadar port ...... as you can knew, if their ships cant't reach the gwadar port, the the whole multi-billion project is a complete waste

alternatively, we should save such strategies only for a real war ...and patiently endure any provocations in favour of the surprise element

.
Gwadar port (to China) is a impractical 'Snake-Oil project' sold to gullible pakis by China and Paki army. In a war time goods and oil may pass through roads but transporting goods in normal time from Gwadar to China-east is very pricey and idiotic idea. I think Gwadar main purpose is Naval base for China.
India can destroy CPEC anytime , we dont even have to use missiles , our pinaka rockets are enough .

The day India started harassing Chinese ships in Indian ocean think the war is already started.China will attacks India.Never ever do that mistake unless India can stand on China's aggression.

Anyway, A war between China and US(West) is in cards in 2020 on Taiwan or SCS or N.Korea.

Bring some pop corn and wait& see.
direct war between India-china or China -USA is not Possible ...................just like Russia-USA ................they will never directly attack each other but they will Fight their wars in small countries .
