Pro-talks faction of Ulfa backs Bodos - Times Of India

GUWAHATI: The pro-talks faction of Ulfa led by chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa has extended support to the Bodos in their "fight against infiltrators." Addressing the media here on Thursday, a leader of faction, Mrinal Hazarika, gave a clarion call to the indigenous people of Assam to put up a united fight against illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.

"We understand the mental condition of the Bodos and extend our full support to the Bodos fighting against the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants," said Hazarika.

He said that the illegal migrants from Bangladesh are out to establish their supremacy in Assam's territory in order to play a decisive role in the politics, economy and social life of the state. tnn

The pro-talks faction also demanded proper investigation into the recent attacks on the Assamese people residing outside the state. Hazarika said fundamentalist elements were behind the incidents of threats and assault on Assamese and other northeastern students living in cities in southern and western India.

Urging the state government to take up urgent measures to protect the people of Assam residing in other states, Hazarika said that the government will be held responsible for similar attacks in Assam, if the Assamese people continue to be assaulted outside.
Good move. All native Assamese must become united in their fight against the illegal migrants.

Everybody in India is well aware that the Bangaldeshis have infiltrated in hordes, except for the Congress Party, if one is to believe their leaders to include the Assam CM and Assam Ministers, Digvijay Singh and maybe, good old Mani Shankar Aiyer, who because of his tenure in Pakistan behaves like a Mother Hen sitting over the egg of Pakistan hoping it hatches into a golden goose (little does he realise that it is a biological impossibility for a hen egg to become a goose!)

Therefore, Rajkhowa supporting is not surprising, and more so he would know more, having been living in Bangladesh under the protection of Khaleda Zia before surrendering!

I was thinking that why not AASU responding about this.

AASU Slams Assam Govt for Providing Safe Haven to Illegal Migrants

The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) has held the Congress party and the State Government squarely responsible for the emergence of fundamentalist elements in Assam, reasoning that illegal immigrants fromBangladesh are becoming a threat to the indigenous people by their nefarious activities. In a statement released to the media today, the students' body said that the belief of AASU and people of Assam regardingthreat from fundamentalist has been reinforced by the recent statement made by the Union Home Secretary RK Singh.
AASU president Sankar Prasad Ray and general secretary Tapan Kumar Gogoi said that the Congress party and the Government has patronized the fundamentalist elements supported by external forces, the consequences of which are being felt by people all over the country. AASU adviser Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya said that everyone from UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has ignored the provisions of the Assam Accord signed by theLate Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Bhattacharya said that influx of Bangladeshi migrants has continued and many among them have become members of fundamentalist organisations, of which many have been arrested. The Chief Minister has neglected the burning issue. The opportunities availed by fundamentalist and backed by Pakistan is a result of the apatheticattitude of the Union and the State Government, he added. In the statement, the AASU also demanded that adequate security be maintained to ensure safety for passengers travelling by train to Guwahati.
