PM, President portraits pointer to airport loos?

Protocol demands that portraits of the president and prime minister be displayed at all Raj Bhavans and government offices across the country at a proper place. At the Nagpur airport, however, the definition of 'proper place' seems to have been given the flush, literally.

Photos of President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have been used at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport here as an indicator to the women's and men's washrooms. The gaffe escaped public scrutiny because the portraits were hung in the VIP waiting lounge.

A day after the complaint, authorities of the Mihan India Limited (MIL), which runs the airport, hastily relocated the portraits and displayed them at a wall some distance from the washrooms. Usendi said he has not been informed of the change but airport authorities said they would write an official letter to him about the photos being removed from the spot.
